The Mating Games Cherryle's Story

Part 4

Cherryle's POV:
I can't see anything,
"MINE" I hear a man say.
"NO, MINE!" I hear another ruff male voice yell, this time followed by a growl.

"Ahh"
I wake up with a start.  Realizing that it was a dream, I whip my head over to check if I woke up Maddie. Surprisingly I didn't.
I jump down from my branch and look up, checking the time.
"Huh, so the sun has just risen, 5:40-ish I suppose? Yeah, sounds right."

I quickly climbed to the top of the tree to grab a few things and I jumped down.
'I'm so glad this forest is too dangerous for...
anything really, it's all ours. Nobody except me and Maddie have ever left this forest alive!'
I thought to myself. 'What a peaceful place for Maddie and I-until Wednesday. Three days. Only three. Until both the anniversary and the possible replay of your only other family's demise.
except you die in the games, not your older brothers. No, think on the bright side! You have the perfect plan.'

I was so focused on trying to think peacefully that I didn't notice Maddie sneak up on me on my walk to the designated bathing river.
"Hey, mind if I join you? I haven't bathed in days either. Yeah I was gonna leave out the 'Either' but then I smelled you!" She says, breaking my thoughts and leaving me speechless. "I-oh, u-um y-yeah sure." I barely make out. "Pfffft!" Maddie bursts into laughter at my shaky response. "H-Hey! I have three more days here, do you really want to spend them making fun of me?" I say sternly, copying the tone of a certain red head on a tv show I once watched. What was her name again? Oh, yeah! Erza Scarlet!
"Umm, duh!" Maddie remarks.

"Oh, shut up!" I reply annoyed.
"Anyway we're here." Inform her.
We come to a stop and adore the view for a moment before jumping in the river. My third last time seeing this possibly. I let out a sigh.
We rinse ourselves before starting to put shampoo in our hair, and conditioning.
"Hey, can you pass the body wash?" Maddie says, breaking the peaceful silence.
"Oh, sure!" I replied cheerfully.

We Finished the bath and got dressed, once ready we headed to Annebell's for breakfast. We start our walk, not much happens. We talk about random s**t that only the two of us would understand. Before we know it, we're there.

We arrive at Annebell's house and knock.
"Coming!" We hear her say.
"Come on in! Breakfast is, um, not started yet but will be soon!" She says embracing us.
"Well, lets get this started!" I say enthusiastically.
