     Annebell's POV:

I felt the warm sunlight caress my face as I woke up and stretched. I checked my iPhone for the time, only to find I'm late... again.
I throw on clothes and race out the door, grabbing a power bar on my way out.

I leave my house to find my friend in her usual spot, sitting on my porch playing temple run. (As she waits for me).

Cherryle's always been a great friend to me, there for me when others weren't.
I tried to cheer myself up when I realized that today is ballot day... the day we find out who's forced into genetically forced false love, mistaken for slavery. Today I could lose my friend...

   Cherryle's POV:

Today was the day when we were to hear the 'Graced Chosen ones' in other words; who was forced to enter the Mating Games. I can't afford to be on that list, for my sake, for the sake of my beloved sister, Maddie and my best friend Annebell. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

"Hey hurry up we've only got like, 15 minutes to get there!" I said while I started to take off, sprinting in the general direction of the ceremony for the contestants.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Annebell responded, seemingly annoyed at my impatience.

"You say that but I know that you'll slack off and pass out on a park bench the second I leave you!" I yelled trying to prove my point,

"Yeah, yeah, sure." Annebell groaned back mockingly; notifying me that I've won.
I'm yelling at Annebell, but really I'm just worried about her and my younger sis Maddy. (Maddy Coral Rosebirch).
Inside my head, reliving my parents murder over and over.

"Go get your sister Cherryle, we'll be fine." My parents said while the house was burning down around them, trapping them in What used to be called a bedroom. The Famous cliche last words of instant horror movie death;
"we'll be fine,"

I'm snapped back into reality when my face smashes into a pole,

"OMG, are you ok Cherryle?" Annebell asked concerned for my well-being.

"Um, hard to say, but not as hard as that metal pole," I end up unable to stop laughing while rolling around on the sidewalk,

"yeah, I'll take that as a hard 'No', from the elementary level science pun." Annebell said, laughing at me.

"And now, for what you've all been waiting for, the ballots of female contestants in this years Mating Games!" The president said on the big stage, most of the women are screaming with excitement while Annebell and I stand there, horrified.

A/N:
