Fighting

Lance POV
It has been a week since joining Lotor. They are very open with me unless it has to do with Voltron. I think they fear that I will go back to them. I will go back but not for a while. I will wait for my mind to reset, so that all the memories I have of the team will fade. I'll be the cold blooded killer like my parents. End the war as quick as possible. Too much blood on my hands will make the job messing and take more time to clean up. Working extra is never ideal.

Right now Lotor and his generals are sitting in a circle, when I walk in. They all quiet down when they see it's me. Lotor ushers me forward. "To show your loyalty to me I need you to go on a mission for me." His smirk says it all. "I need you to go to the plant in sector 6829 and retrieve a special gem that I am in need of." Knowing that disagreeing is a dumb idea I agree and they brief me on everything else.  I have an inkling that they are hiding something but I don't push on it. "You will leave tomorrow. You will take a fighter jet and anything way you want to get it is okay." His dark smile says that he wants me to kill. Which isn't the worst idea because I need to focus. Get to how I use to be, just for a while. My weak self needs to disappear for a while. "Yes sir." I say crisp and calm before heading out of the room.

The next day I walk down the hall to the weapon room. The sooner I prepare the faster everything will be done. I slip on a Galra suit, one similar to Lotor's. I grab a belt to put knives into, along with a short sword. I grab a hand held gun and place it on my belt. I slip a small dagger in my boot. Hanging on the wall a little ways from the weapons is a sniper rifle. Grabbing it off the wall, I slip the strap over my head to rest on my other shoulder for a tight grasp. Turning around I notice the door opening to reveal Lotor. He gives a light smile before handing me a helmet the has the visor tinted. Placing it on my head, Lotor talks, "Good Luck." I know that he doesn't really mean it. He just wants me to succeed. Giving him a tight nod I head off to the fighter hanger. I climb up to the ship and take off towards the planet.

Getting to the planet was easy and so was landing in a forest. The hard part came after. Looking up I see 5 objects coming through the atmosphere. Using my helmet, I zoom in only to see the 5 Voltron lions flying towards the village where the gem is. Cursing slightly, I finally understand why Lotor was smiling so nasty. I watch as the lions disappear over the trees. I track forwards until I'm at the edge of the forest bordering the town. I watch as Shiro steps out of the black lion and Keith out of the red. They all take off there helmets and I see how tired Keith. How his hair is untamed, the black bags under his eyes, and the way his shoulders sag. Using my helmet I listen in on the conversations that are going on. Shiro starts off, "We got word that one of Lotor's generals are after the gem that is protected by your town. We are here to find them and stop them." The Village leader the looks like a cat person but purple laughs. "The gem can not be stolen. As much as I'd like to send you off, I will keep you here so then you can see that there is no threat." Deciding that the conversation is now of know use to me, I sneak into the village.

I plan to follow the paladins to where they are going so that I know where the gem is. The village leader leads them to a small cave and moves his hand as if to say this is it. Shiro motions to them to follow him inside. Hunk stays at the entrance while the rest walk in. After a few minutes I follow. I sneak around behind Hunk and hit the back of his head. He goes down like a rock. Moving into the cave, it's dark. I use the night vision on my helmet to see that the next obstacle is Pidge. Pulling a knife out of my belt I toss it at them and they look around wondering where it came from but I'm already behind them. 2 down 3 to go. Reaching the end of the cave I see Keith standing with his sword ready. He stands in front of the gem. I sigh in annoyance. "Why did it have to be you?" I mutter out to him. He looks to the direction of the voice. "Who's there?" I take a step forward but I hear it before I see it. Allura and Shiro on either sides of the cave running at me to stop me. Before they can touch me, I spring forward at Keith. Caught off guard, he allows me to put a knife to his neck. Shiro and Allura charge at us. Are they stupid? I have their teammate hostage. I let go of him and jump back. They attack in formation. They aren't bad, just not my level. I cut them with my short sword not to kill but to weaken them until they are unable to attack anymore. Shiro does land a punch. Right at my face, throwing my helmet off. Keith comes in for the 'kill' but stops once seeing who it is. "Lance?"
