Keith POV

If I thought back to how everything would end, I would not have thought of it ending this way. I would have thought of it ending more smoothly, but when does Team Voltron do anything smoothly. What events happened to have led us to this end? Was there anything I could have done to change it? Thinking back I can realize there is nothing I could have done that would have corrected this terrible future. The future is now set in stone, I can't change this, no matter how much I want to.

"Keith...."

That is right, it started after my talk with Shiro.

(Time change to earlier)

"Lance will always be the same Lance he has always been!"

I turn away from him and go back on the main deck to look at our location and the proximity to Lotor. After seeing that we are not too far from his last know location, I head down to Red's hanger. Maybe she will help me out with everything. Reaching red's hanger I feel her warm presence in my head.

Red has always been able to calm me down and help me. I barley have a second to breath before I hear Allura over the coms. "The Castle can not go any farther so we have to take the Lions through the asteroid field." I hop in Red hoping that I can get to Lance before everyone else. I fly out of the castle and race through the asteroid field. I block out Allura's and Shiro's attempts to stop me from proceeding in what I am doing.

I see Lotor's ship coming closer as I sped towards it. After getting to the ship, I land and run off to find Lance. Lucky me that I didn't have to go far to see them fighting. Unlucky me that I saw the gun about to be fired. Lucky Lance was able to knock it out of Lotor's hand. Lotor has Lance in a choke hold trying to reach for the run. I hear the rest of the team landing, so I snap into action.

"Lance!" Lance looks up at me while I'm running. "Keith?" unfortunately Lance became distracted and that ending in a gun shot. From the distance team voltron gasps and blood flies everywhere. I remember another shot being fired before two bodies fell to the ground.

(Present time)

The future is a crazy concept. One minute everyone is hanging out and having fun and the next people are dead. The two people that were shot were Lotor and the other was me. Lotor must of saw me as Lance's weak point. Lotor shot me and Lance shot Lotor. I could barely hear anything anymore. I did hear Lotor choke on blood but then go quiet. I felt my eye lids grow heavy and my body giving up on the fight to stay alive.

"Keith. Don't you dare leave me." I have no energy to respond to this person. "Someone help me!" This was all I heard before darkness overtakes me.

Lance POV

After Keith was shot I felt rage and saw red. I killed Lotor swiftly and then ran over to Keith. "Keith. Don't you dare leave me." When he doesn't respond I get worried. His eyes start to role backwards. He's lost too much blood. I look over at Team Voltron and none of them have moved due to shock. "Someone help me!" With this I got Hunk and Pidge to respond.

"Lance lets get him to Red so we can get him to the castle." Hunk helps me lift him and we get him to Red. When Red lets me drive her I go to the castle. Upon landing I rush Keith to the medical area where we get him into a pod. When the pod doesn't respond I fear the worst. Coran puts a hand on my shoulder. I look at him and he shakes his head. For the first time in years, I cry.

"I think it is best to keep him in there until we figure out a ceremony. It will help preserve the body." I can't mutter a single word but Coran leaves me alone with Keith to grieve.

After two whole days of grieving we decided to have the ceremony. I walk into the medical area to say my goodbyes but I'm met with a surprise. Keith is out of his pod. Alive and healed. He turns to me, "Lance." I don't say a single word. I run up to him and kiss him. He kisses me back. "I love you." I finally hear him say back, "I love you too Lance."

~~~~~~~
The End.
I am thinking of writing a new story. Let me know how you feel about this.
Lance POV
I wake up to the alarm going off. I get up and run to the control room. I run in and see the rest of the team in there uniforms. "The Galra are attacking so paladins get to your lions." Coran twists his mustache while speaking.
We run off to our lions. I walk up to red and ask her to open up. She stays silent. I try again. Nothing. "What's going on? What's wrong Red?" I beg her to respond. She remains silent. I hear over the coms everyone else's distressed voices. I hear Coran over the com say, "Lance is everything alright? You haven't taken off." "Red is not opening to me!" I yell freaked out. I think to my self, 'No... not again. I can't lose another lion.
Maybe I am made to be an extra anyway. Keith left this team for me. I can't leave his name in vain but Red is not responding. I get yanked out of my thoughts by Coran saying to Matt. "Go see what's wrong with Lance."
After a few mins of me trying to get Red to open up Matt runs in yelling, "Lance what's happening to Red?" I look at him and shake my head to show that I don't know.
He puts a hand on my shoulder and then walks up to Red trying to figure out what's wrong. He touches the particle barrier and it vanishes. A sense of hopelessness starts eating at me.
Matt looks at me with a smile on. I grab my Bayard and throw it at him. He catches it and with the best fake smile I can muster I say, "Go help them Matt."
After he flies out of the hanger I take off my helmet and turn the coms off. I start to break down. Tears after tears falls to the floor. I feel useless and a fool to think I actually belonged here.
~~That would just be the beginning. Klance is kinda already established in this one and lance goes on a journey to discover himself.
