Surprising Visit

Weeks had passed since that eventful day, and I had succesfully avoided to be found by multiple search parties send out by the Hokage. I had forgotten my childish anger in being doubted, and just continued with how my life had been before I revealed myself to the Village. Right now, I was panting heavily as I had destroyed a large part of the forest by practising some Jutsu's I had invented. I ran my fingers through my dirty hair as I stared at the clearing I had made. Trees were charred or completely destroyed, craters littered the ground where once grass grew, and boulders were smashed into little tiny stones. I closed my eyes and focussed on my breathing before I sat down criss-cross on the only patch of grass left untouched, folding my hands in my lap. I started to lose myself in my meditative state, replenishing my chakra along the way. In my third hour of meditation, I noticed the chakra signature of the Copy Cat Ninja. Why is he here? I sighed heavily and my eyes fluttered open, calmly glancing over my shoulder. ''Hatake. To what do I owe the misfortune of your visit?'' I questioned, my voice cold. Alright, perhaps I had not yet forgiven the man as much as I told myself I did.

Kakashi's one visible eye observed the damage around him, before his gaze flickered to me. ''Hokage-sama told me to investigate the disturbing sound of destruction that came from here. I see now that it was you training.'' He walked further into the clearing and sat down on the ground infront of me. I arched a brow at him as he invited himself to stay, urging him to continue talking. But he did not. ''Mission accomplished. You should report to your Hokage like a good little Ninja.'' I stated sharply, gesturing towards the general direction of the village over my shoulder. It was a clear statement; I did not want him to stay. But appearently, he did not care for what I wanted at this moment. ''I will, shortly. I'd like to talk first. Do you have any idea how worried we were when you disappeared?'' He countered, his onyx eye staring me down intently. I frowned at that, my little brows furrowing. They worried about me? ''Do not twist your words and catch yourself in your lies, Hatake. I know that your Hokage only wants me because I am strong enough to pose a threat to the Village. As for you-'' I paused for a moment, my uncertain voice turning cold. I refused to believe someone cared enough to miss me. ''-you do as commanded by the old man. Whatever sincere kindness I thought you possessed, was gone the moment you showed me clear distrust after I had saved your life.'' I stood up from my meditative stance, rolling my sore shoulders. ''Saved it again, might I add.''

Kakashi stood up as well, and his calculating gaze turned solemn. ''I agree. I should not have done that, but I was shocked. Those assassin's would have been too much for me to handle, and so I became confused when it was you that single handedly took them all down.'' He explained in a soft voice, sorrowful. ''Was it not you who told your petty students that there are Ninja out there younger than them, yet stronger than you?'' I countered, albeit with a friendlier tone. The Copy Cat Ninja was not a bad person, and I found myself slowly forgiving him. ''Yes it was, and that is why I apologize, Kai.'' At the use of his nickname for me, I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. A warm, tingly feeling spread through out my stomach and my cheeks dusted the faintest teint of pink. Am I getting a fever? ''Thank you, Kakashi. Apology accepted. Friends once more?'' I stuck my hand out towards him to shake, my teeth digging down in my plump bottomlip, chewing the flesh profoundly. I was nervous. What if I had lost my first Leaf-friend forever? Kakashi seemed to smirk as he noticed my faint blush, grabbing my hand and giving it a firm shake. ''Hai. Friends.''  He mused, before giving my arm a yank. It was so unexpected and quick that when I finally realised what happened, I froze completely and stopped breathing alltogether. Kakashi had pulled me flush against his chest, his warm arms embracing me in the most comfortable hug I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing as my face was smothered against his stomach since I was so small. After a minute of freezing, I hesitantly slithered my arms around him and hugged back, and only then would he release me and step back with a closed-eye smile. ''A-ah uhm....-'' I made a few unintelligent noises before turning my head to the side, glaring at the trees on the outer rim of the field that were still intact. Why did he do that? And better yet, why did it feel so good? ''Let's celebrate the friendship by getting some Ramen, my treat.'' Kakashi said, gesturing to the direction of the Village. I narrowed my eyes in hesitation. We stared at each other for approximately five minutes, neither of us backing down. ''Fair enough. Lead the way.'' I finally faltered, rolling my eyes at Kakashi's victorious fist pump before we both started off towards the Village Hidden in the Leafes.
