Chapter 2

Since we were in a small town near the capital city we arrived early. the guards escorted us to the large people filled town square and to make sure we won't escape again, they notified higher authorities that the runner has arrived then left us in the town square and stood near the gate watching us intently more than anyone else making sure that we won't run away, We weren't planning to anyways.

When the authorities caught us they warned us that if my sister escape one more time we'd both be thrown in a vampire prison where every horrific and monstrous thing happens and vampires can find us quickly and throw us both there before we can even say 'Cheese' and we couldn't find any witch who can make the charms that the other witch made before.

We kind of had no choice...

We both looked around inspecting all the young people hugging their family members while crying knowing that somehow this is the end. Like I said vampires rules are strict meaning you don't get to see any family member after you're taken.

I looked at sister my heart clenching as I imagined her being taken away from me ,me not seeing her again or me waking up everyday and not seeing her in the kitchen Preparing breakfast for the both of us or me sleeping on the couch after a long night shift and waking up having a cold because my older sister wasn't there to put blanket over me... Yeah I was always half awake when she did that then kissed my forehead whispering goodnight.

I Started remembering all the moments we spent together causing a tear to trail from my eye unwillingly but I wiped it quickly so she wouldn't notice and get even sadder. Then i looked around finding everyone become quiet suddenly as they stared ahead causing me to follow their gazes to the vampires who just arrived and were standing all around us on the stage that was rounding the capital hall on choosing day.

I gulped trying to calm my nerves as my eyes skimmed over the smirking, arrogant faces of all the vampires that my eyes could reach causing me to grit my teeth. My sister's hand suddenly grabbed mine squeezing it reassuringly noticing how tense, angry and nervous I was.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the annual choosing" the announcer announced in a microphone with a grin his voice echoing around us. Everyone who Wasn't already dead silent now was as I could practically feel them reeking of anxiety.

"I'm glad to announce that this year we will be joined by the royal family, and they're currently out of these gates and on their way here" the announcer said excitedly as the huge vampire crowd cheered loudly..Oh joy.

A horn blew announcing that the royal family were climbing the stairs to the stage heading to their seats on the stage and after a minute we saw them standing in front of their seats with stone faces in all their bloody glory pun intended.

All the vampires bowed down to them in respect and we bowed to them mostly in fear.

I peeked through my eyelashes seeing them for the first time, we only knew their names and descriptions.

The king looked to be in his 40's but he was hundreds maybe even thousands of years old since vampires aged like humans till they reached the age of 21 then their bodies start to age much slower, He had black hair with a few white hairs from his age, his eyes were a very bright shade of green and his skin was only a little tan, He was about 6'0 and was well built with muscles, after all he was the king. He wasn't bad looking by any means though his face was stern and held no emotion.

The queen was just beautiful, Her hair was a beautiful shade of light platinum blonde, her eyes were bright blue ,she had fair skin and her features were not soft but not quite as stern as her husband's she looked to be in her late 30's Her face was emotionless, not as serious as the king's face though, but although she was beautiful her eyes gave off an unsettling vibe..like one you'd get from a snake.
