I brush my teeth and check my phone. A few messages and status updates, nothing new. Everyone's having fun, after all it's summer vacation. It's the longest break you ever get, can't miss on that right. This whole year was full of pressure - studies, friends and family. But the hard phase is over right. The only anxious part is the results. After all 10th boards results are considered a big deal. A big step which helps you decide your path of career.

I look at people's profile pictures and I can see everyone enjoying. I'm about to close the app but I can't resist the thought of just having a look at his profile picture. I click on the menu, go to the blocked contacts and here it is, his name still showing "Jay". I clicked on the chat and unblocked the contact. I can see his updated profile picture now. What a jerk. And then it hits me... doesn't this makes me a jerk too? Still trying to stalk the person I hate? Still lurking around to find out what he's doing? Ugh. What am I doing? I click on the menu and block the contact again. I put my phone on charging and head out of the room for my breakfast.

Mom sure knows how to turn on the vacation mode with a delicious breakfast.

"I'll be out tonight to meet some of my friends from back in the college. It's like a little reunion. Would you like to stay at Julia aunty's place or you're fine with being home alone?" My mother asked.

"Nah. It's fine. I can manage." I said, screaming internally with excitement. I loved staying home alone.

"Alright then. See if you wanna invite some of your friends over for a night stay."

Suddenly, I realised something. I rose up from my chair and searched for the calendar.

What's the date today? I jumped up with excitement!

"Oh! I completely forgot!!!" I screamed.

"What?" my mother asked.

"Oh! Mom, Naina is coming today!! She had told me a few days ago but I completely forgot." I said. "Can I please invite her to our house?" I asked with a puppy face.

"Umm.. okay but I've got a lot of complaints from the neighbours since the last time she came." my mother said with a concerned look.

"Oh mom! They don't know! They just blame anyone. And anyways we weren't listening the music that loudly." I said. " And she's barely in the town anymore. In Fact, we only meet once a year since she has moved to whole other country. Plus the time zones and stuff we barely talk anymore." I said in defense.

"Alright,alright. Call her but don't stay up late and don't bother the neighbours. Promise?"

"Promise."

Yayyy!!! Naina's coming over. Woah, how did I forgot. She's gonna kill me if she finds out. I won't tell her. Oh I'm so excited!! My best friends for six years is coming back today...Hurray!!
