The night was not like any other ordinary night. It was beautiful almost magical. The stars were covering the sky, the moon beaming in the distance. City lights never revealed this beauty of nature before.
Naina looked up, her eyes twinkling and whispering "woah". I had to admit I was stunned too. The darkness was not bothering us anymore as the stars and the moon lit the sky wonderfully.
"It feels like a romcom... Two best friends catching up after a long time on the rooftop... just need a few drinks and we are good to go" Naina said smiling.
"Yes. But I'd much prefer if you were a dude and we were drunk" I joked.
She looked at me with a poker face and I burst out a laugh.
We sat on the bunks and glared at the sky.
"I've always wanted to this. Sleepover on a roof" I said.
"Yeah, I know right. I'm not even mad at the electricity department anymore."
"Haven't you done this in Italy? Sleepover on a roof?"
"No. To be honest I missed you a lot. I mean I had friends over there but I couldn't find anyone like you, you know. A real friend."
"That's great I would not have appreciated a replacement"
She giggled. "No, I would never replace you"
"Yes. I know. But thanks" I smiled at her. "Aren't you going to tell me about the guy you met over there?"
"Oh yes. I forgot about that." She said knowing well she didn't. She was waiting for me to get on that topic just so that she doesn't seem like the desperate one.
"Oh did you?" I said sarcastically. She started blushing immediately.
"Now now don't get too excited it's not a really big thing. I just happen to talk to him online."
"Wait. You met him online?"
"Yeah... I mean no... I mean see I have heard about him in school. Like from a few girls but I haven't seen him because I guess we have different classes. But then he ended up sending me a request on Facegram. So I accepted the request and we just started chatting."
"So you're just talking to a guy you haven't even seen? Do you even know him? Like do you even know that he exists?" I asked. It felt like Deja Vu.
"Of course he exists. What are you talking about? Why would the girls be talking about him otherwise?"
"It could easily be a fake account. How do you trust someone you've only met online?"
"Okay calm down. I've already shared this with some of my friends and they know for sure that it's him and it's not a fake account. They have seen him."
"Well, have you?"
"No... But, what... W-why are you asking such questions? Geez, why would they lie if they have met him?"
"I just don't understand why would you talk to someone you've never met physically and just chat with them for hours online?"
"Okay, what? Why are you so upset over this? I've never seen you like this. Generally you're excited when I talk to you about a guy. And we are just chatting, what's wrong with that? We couldn't meet because we could not clear up our schedule. And don't worry we are just at the friend stage only, I won't consider showing interest before personally meeting him and you know that."
"Okay, sorry. I guess I overreacted." I said with my cheeks burning hot. I wasn't expecting to embarrass myself. It was just out of concern. After all that has happened, I was a bit protective towards Naina. I don't want to lose her as well.
"It's alright." she said comforting me. She knew it was my concern and nothing more. She threw her arm on my shoulder giving me a side hug. "But I'm curious, why were you so upset? Did something happen?"
I was still. Not sure what to say.
