Here he was, standing still, and looking at her. Her stomach hurt all of sudden by seeing him, her eyes finally meeting his blue eyes as she only realized at that moment how much she missed that, how much she missed him.

"Bonnie ?"

He didn't believe she was there, she could see it through his eyes, but also through his voice. They were both filled with fear of this hallucination and –maybe, she hoped- the joy of having it. And his voice was almost a whisper, too scared of being wrong if he'd shout too loud her name. She understood that feeling all too well.

He stared at her, his phone still near his hear, not being able to move. Was he really looking directly at Bonnie right now? Was she really being here?

-... One and only!"

It was the only thing she could reply, the only thing that went through her mind in front of the millions of feelings going through her mind just as by seeing him. He hadn't changed, except he was wearing a suit, she almost forgot what he looked like in a suit. God it felt good looking at a familiar face. She smiled, seeing him as he began to realize that she was actually here. His smiled too, the kind of smile he usually only showed to Elena. But this time he was smiling to her. Why was she so happy about it?

"We're having a bit of a disagreement but don't ever lay a hand on her..."

That's what he told Kai, she could remember the glimpse of pleasure she felt during this hard time by the idea of Damon could really care about her, not about what she meant to Elena, or how she could help him, but just because he cared, because he liked her. But she knew it wasn't all about her, because Damon was still, is, all about Elena. That was his argument, by the way, to let Kai come back with them "Let me come back to Stefan, to Elena..." Maybe, it was because she meant something to Elena, only for that...

"We're having a bit of a disagreement but don't ever lay a hand on her..."

From his point of view, he perfectly remembered saying that. Kai couldn't touch her, not while he was there, at least that was what he tried to respect... and miserably failed considering she was tortured by him. Had he always been that miserable in friendship? Yet he did care about her, very much, so much he almost screwed it all up.

Damon looked at her, blinking and tilting his head on one side, trying to discover her once again. She seemed so... alive, and happy, and here. She came back, without his help, without anyone's help, and yet she did it. She did find a way, as she always did, not needing anyone. He smiled, a big and wide and happy, relieved smile, noticing only now as stressed she looked. She also seemed so relieved when he smiled, and there was only one thing he wanted to do. Hold her in his arms, to keep her close to him, and protect her.

Before even realizing it, his arms were slowly opening, while he let a small laugh. He couldn't keep his eyes away from her, as if she would disappear if he'd stopped. She laughed too, sighing in relief by looking at his open arms. And it's only at that one moment that she realized how much she would be happy to be in his arms; how much she wanted to be in his arms, she needed it.

Not even one second passed before she decided to run to him. Damon let her do, having even a bigger a smile and raising one of his eyebrows as if he dared her to come any closer. She did, without even questioning it.

When she arrived in front of him, Bonnie jumped to him, her legs naturally around his wrist while he lifted her up with his arms. He kept her closer to him, as close as he could "humanly" possibly could, closing his eyes and sighing in relief.

"oh you made it!" He couldn't help but cry with joy, almost making her turn around with him while she laughed too, her hands around his neck.

Being in his arms was way too good to be true, to be right. And yet, she couldn't let go, she couldn't let him go.
