Chapter One- Annissa
Icy cold tears ran down my face as I ran through the exotic green forest. It was beautiful and I wished to stop and admire the nature that I rarely saw but I had to keep running. One foot after another, I thought. I ignored the idea of being caught. I couldn't go back, not now, not ever.
A small shed came into view and I sprinted towards it. There was a cramp by my rib and my breath was shortening. I just needed to make it to the shed, then I could rest. I lunged towards the door and threw it open, then I immediately slammed it shut. My back was now against the cold wooden door. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest and my breath was finally starting to settle. I could hear him pass by the shed with the ground crunching under his feet. I held my breath as he passed, but then the sound of footsteps stopped.
"I know you're here, just give yourself up." He said. My heart started to pound again. I was able to hear his breath now. The doorknob turned and he forced his way through. I squealed with fright as I fell to the floor. My hand went down first and a loud crack came next. The pain slowly moved up my arm and I held back another scream. More tears ran down my face as he came closer. "Please-" "Stop." He ordered. "You will listen to me now. No more running and no talking!" "Why are you doing this?" I yelled. "I said no talking!" He pulled me up by my injured hand with such force I lunged forward. I was forced to sit down in an old chair.
"I told them I wouldn't do it. I told them I wouldn't make you love me! I had to! I had to make you love me. They were going to kill me. I had to work for them, I had no choice!" His voice would rise in anger as each word was spoken.
"I hate you!" I spat at his feet. "What happened to all of the love you had for me?" He asked with bitterness growing in his expression. "I used to love you!" I spoke the words with so much hatred I felt guilty. He put himself so close to my face I could smell his horrid breath. "Sweetheart, ...you will always love me." He walked out of the shed and kept going. I ran out, "Wait!" He turned around. "You aren't taking me back?" I asked afraid of the answer. "Sweetheart, they don't want you anymore. Too much unnecessary trouble. Goodbye for now my sweet." With that and a pleased smile he walked away.
I decided to not say anymore, this is a good thing. Unfortunately it is awfully suspicious. Exhausted, I curled up on the floor and fell asleep in the freezing cold shed.
