Chapter Six- Annissa

I fell out of my light sleep only to find my eyes sting in the corners. I must have been crying a lot. How long was I sleeping? It couldn't have been that long because I wasn't even tired or in need of more sleep, and it was the middle of the day.

I opened my eyes and sat up. Enzo was sitting across the room staring off in my direction. He seemed to come back into focus when I looked at him. He was dressed in a red and blue plaid polo shirt and jeans with his beat up dress shoes all clean. I never have seen him wear those clothes so he must save them for special occasions.

"I got your clothes for you." He told me pointing to a neatly folded pile of clothes sitting next to me.

I suddenly felt very vulnerable and tightly hugged the towel around me. I actually forgot I wasn't wearing any clothes.

My cheeks flushed, "Thanks."

"Are you better now?" He asked squeakily, looking away from me shyly.

I didn't know what to say to him, this was all so weird. He doesn't even know what actually happened, but he acts like everything is fine and he doesn't want to know, and why won't he come near me! Why won't he even look me in the eyes! And why is he barely talking to me!

"I'm. Fine!" I muttered, trying to control my anger.

He obviously noticed that I was mad and I started to feel bad. Why should I even be mad at him? It's not like he can read my mind or is going to let me lay my head on his chest all day long, I thought, suddenly feeling very pathetic.

He looked at me for a long moment, "I have to get to my interview."

He walked out of the shed. I wrapped the towel around me and ran out after him.

"Wait!" I yell and Enzo turns around. "I'll come with you. I can get a job too." I finish, suddenly realizing how cold it is outside and how I am wrapped in just a thin towel.

He chuckles, "Go inside before you freeze to death. You can get a job another day, and when I get back you better have some clothes on."
