Chapter Eighteen

Chapter Eighteen- Annissa

"Hey!" I walked over to the guys. Raiden's hand was in mine and we took the same steps to get to them.

"I decided to call your friends 'the guys'." I whispered to him as we got closer.

"Oh ya, what about Samantha?" He asked me.

"She won't mind." I playfully winked at Raiden right before we ended up standing by everyone.

"Hey Annissa!" Cole practically yelled with excitement. Suspicious.

"Oh ya hey Annissa!" Josh said as he turned around to face me. His voice unnaturally high pitched.

"Hey!" Samantha squealed as she turned herself and Hades around to face me.

Raiden was the first to question them, "Guys, what is going on here?"

Raiden and I looked at all of them suspiciously.

"Nothing!" Cole blurted out. Out of all of them, Cole looked the most nervous.

"Seriously guys! What is going on?" Raiden said. I could tell he was starting to get mad. Clearly, he doesn't like his friends keeping secrets.

Josh was the first to crack, "We were just talking about how Cole likes-"

"Shut up!" Samantha yelled at Josh while she hit his arm.

Josh looked down at his feet, his face was flushed with embarrassment. But when I looked at Cole I see his face was ten times worse. His hands were nervously tapping his legs and his eyes were looking everywhere but at Raiden and me.

"Well if it is just the new chick Cole likes why can't you tell us?" I heard Raiden ask the group.

Hades laughs cruelly, "Because the 'new chick' Cole likes is already taken."

"Hades back off!" Samantha hissed at him. Her ears were red with anger.

"So who is it?" I asked them.

Cole quickly looked up at us then back down to his feet.

"What the hell man!" Raiden yelled at Cole.

I saw Raiden jump in front of Cole, but I don't understand why. I guess Raiden REALLY doesn't like people keeping secrets. I thought back to Enzo and Raiden fighting. If Raiden actually wanted to fight this time, it was probably not going to turn out good.

"Raiden chill!" I calmly said as I took a step closer to Cole and him.

"No, I can't just chill Annissa!"

"Why not? If Cole doesn't want to tell us who he likes then he doesn't have to, it's no big deal." I responded to Raiden.

"No big deal!" Raiden retorted at me while gesturing to Cole. "I already know who he likes!"

I shook my head in confusion, "B-but how? He never told us."

"Are you really that naive Annissa!" Raiden yelled in my face.

I jumped back in shock, his insult hurt. Raiden calmed down for a second, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you."

My eyes filled up with tears. No I can't cry, not here, not now. I looked from Raiden to Cole to the others. Samantha, Hades, and Josh are at least 5 feet away from us, all three of them looked like they have no idea what to do. I guessed they usually don't mess with Raiden.

I looked back at Cole. "I don't understand what is going on right now."

Cole sighed deeply, not dramatically, but like he is about to say something terrible. "I-I...I like..." He looked terrified right now. "I can't do this right now." Cole ran down the street and turned the corner.
