Chapter Eight- Annissa
"What's wrong?" Enzo asked softly.
I didn't want to say anything but I had to. It wouldn't be fair not to tell him. I looked past his shoulder and saw the roses and card sitting by the door. I smiled realizing it was for me. I guess Enzo wasn't the only one thinking of me.
I left his arm and turned around to grab the bright pink box. When I handed it to him he looked really confused. I read the tag for him,
"Sweetheart,
I hope this gift becomes useful for you. I now it will be and I wanted to do something nice for you. I bet this is way better then whatever that asshole gets you. I love you and will always. Never forget you are mine. I will come back for you and we can be together forever.
Happy Valentine's Day,
Sam"
"Who the hell is Sam?" Enzo sounded mad.
"You know that guy that was here?" I continued on when I saw Enzo wasn't going to answer. "Well, I would always call him Sam because he never was allowed to tell me his name. When I asked if Sam really was his name he said no but that is what I can call him."
"Why was he not able to tell you his name?" Enzo asked, clearly trying to keep his cool.
I noticed that he wasn't letting me go like he was afraid to. He was protecting me even though there wasn't any danger around.
Ignoring his question I continued, "After you left I went for a walk to try and clear my head. When I came back this box was sitting here. I read the tag and haven't been able to open it, scarred of what is inside." I say this like it's simple, but I was really worried about when Sam would come back. He said he owned me!
"How is this guy getting here all the time? How does he only come when I'm not here? Who does he think he is, saying he owns you? That asshole!" Enzo ragged.
He let go of me at this point and was pacing back and forth the shed with so much force he could have knocked a wall over by just bumping into it.
"Please calm down." I told him soothingly.
He looked at me and I could see some of his anger go away, but then he turned away and yelled, punching the wall. I jumped back without thinking. Enzo's shoulder's relaxed but quickly tensed up in pain.
"Damn what is it with guys punching walls when they're mad." I say walking over to him.
A light smile crosses his face just before he winces in pain, now holding his bloody hand.
"Let me see." I whisper holding my hand out.
Enzo gently places his hand over mine and slowly relaxes.
"What were you thinking?" I gasped.
His hand was terrible, blood all over and a huge open gash across his knuckles. Even though he was trying to be cool, Enzo was clearly in a lot of pain.
"I wasn't." He says trying not to laugh.
I let go of his hand and look around the shed trying to find something to clean up his hand with. The shower! There is soap in the shower!
"Come on." I say grabbing Enzo's good hand and dragging him over to the shower.
"Wh-what are we doing?" Enzo asks nervously.
"Just come on." I order, opening the curtain and pulling him in the room.
I grab the soap and turn on the water. Then, take Enzo over to the water and run his hand through it, rinsing off all of the blood. I take the soap and start to wash off his hand.
"Ouch!" Enzo wines as the soap touches his cuts.
"Stay still you big baby." I teased.
I grabbed our shared towel and dried his hand. It was still bleeding.
"Hold still." I said taking off my sweater.
"Woah!" Enzo said excitedly. "What are you doing?"
"Shut up!" I yelled at him, now taking off my tank top.
I am left in just my bra and Enzo won't stop staring at my chest. I rip a piece of my black tank top off and use it as a band-aid and wrap it around his entire hand tightly.
"That should stop the bleeding for now but we should probably get an actual band-aid rap sometime today. We also need to-."
Enzo cut me off by pulling my closer to him and kissing me passionately. His lips were so soft and his hand across my bare back was roughed up by years of hard work. As we kissed he stood us both up and pushed me up against the wall. I pulled away for a breath. I could feel my heart pounding and chest heavily going up and down as I gasped for air. Enzo pushed himself closer to me as he kissed me again. I could also feel his heart beating so fast. The wall touching my back was rough wood and cold, but I didn't care. He pulled his lips away from mine and did light kisses all down my neck and shoulder. Each one left a little tingle on the spot he kissed. When he kissed my shoulder he hesitated for a split second before he went back up to my lips.
"You are so beautiful." he breathed out each word like it would be his last.
His eyes were bright almond brown and glowed with excitement.
"You are amazingly attractive." He looked down at my chest.
"You fool." I teased. "You just like my chest."
Enzo laughed, thankfully understanding that I'm teasing him.
"Can you blame me?" He asked, a shy smile falling across his rosy pink lips.
I looked up at his face. Then, I did something that I clearly wouldn't have done in my right mind. I ripped off his shirt, not literally of course. His bare chest stared at me. My eyes were level with his collar bone. I slowly looked down at his perfect abs, then, up to his perfect face.
He smiled with a chuckle and I laughed nervously.
He pushed himself closer, kissing me again. We passionately kissed for the longest time ever now. My legs were now wrapped around his waist.
He pulled his lips away from mine unexpectedly, "Crap!"
"What?" I asked nervous of what is next.
"My first day of work is tomorrow and I have to go get a uniform before the stores close." He told me.
Enzo carefully set me down.
"R-right now?" I asked sadly.
"The stores will close soon. I have to go." He said every word like it was a lie.
"O-okay." I said, still against the rough, cold wall.
Enzo put his shirt back on very fast and ran out without looking back at me.
I was left feeling vulnerable and bare.
"Fine. If Enzo wants to just make excuses and leave I'll do the same." I said to myself, dressing, then walking out.
I went back to the shed and with only a moment of hesitation I opened the bright pink box. Inside there was a phone.
"What the heck!" I thought out loud.
Whatever, I needed a phone anyway. I grabbed the phone and headed out to town, only stopping a minute to looking at the roses and chocolate laying by the door that were meant for me.
