Chapter Twenty- Annissa
My eyelids fluttered open as I layed in the soft warm bed. The light shone in through the window on the pink wall. Alejandra. I'm in Alejandra's room, realization struck me. I remembered how she vulnerably asked me to protect her in the middle of the night. I felt so refreshed, safe even. I guessed I always slept better when someone was by me. I looked over to the other half of the bed and saw Alejandra peacefully sleeping. She looked younger than she already was. Her face was peaceful. I didn't want to wake her so I slowly climbed off of her bed and walked to the door. I opened it and as I closed it, now out of Alejandra's room, she slightly stirred.
I started walking to Raiden's room, but he beat me to it.
"Good Morning sunshine!"
"Hey Raiden," I smiled at him.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. "How was your sleep?"
"Amazing," I looked up at his beautiful green eyes. "Your sister though, Alejandra, asked me to lay down with her. It worried me because she just seemed so scarred. I just don't know why. So I layed down with her and she's still sleeping now."
Raiden moved his hand in circles around my back, reassuring me that it was alright. "I don't know why she would be so scared...I'll keep a closer eye on her. Hopefully she hasn't gotten herself into any trouble."
I laid my head against Raiden's chest and hugged him, but our hug was cut short when a little girl walked out of her own room. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and yawned.
Raiden let go of me and walked over to Katrina. "Hey Angel! How are you this lovely morning?" He picked her up and held her in his arms. She laughed lightly and kissed Raiden on his cheek.
I laughed at the sight and walked over to the two happy siblings and wrapped my arms around Raiden's shoulders. This action left Kat squished in the middle of us. "Raiden Marinos are you always this happy in the morning?"
Katrina giggled at my question and answered for him, "He is ALWAYS this happy! Sometimes he is even happier!" Her eyes were wide and dramatic as she told me this.
Raiden laughed, "I just like being a happy person."
"That's a good thing," I said as I leaned in to kiss him.
Kat squished herself to Raiden as if she could hide from seeing the kiss. Are lips brushed lightly against each others and the little girl laughed at the action.
"What are you laughing at?" Raiden asked her.
"You guys could at least do better than that," She said, jumping out of Raiden's arms.
We both looked at each other, shocked at what the four year old just said.
"Well that was weird," We both laughed as Raiden said this.
"You're sisters are a handful," I told him.
"Let's go eat," He took my hand and we walked side by side down the stairs.
"Good morning!" Mrs. Marinos greets us.
She had a pan in her hand with scrambled eggs cooking on it. There were five plates in a straight line sitting on the counter waiting to have food placed on them.
"Good morning Mrs. Marinos!" I said as cheerfully as Raiden would have.
He looked at me and smiled, "I guess my happiness has rubbed off on you."
I smiled back at him, "I guess it has."
"Well sit down children," Mrs. Marinos interrupted our teasing.
