Hayley's POV

Oh shit! Oh shit! I am a goner today!

Mr. Maclean is one of the strictest teachers at Hillside High. He won't even tolerate you sneezing during a test. After everyone left, he called me over to his desk. He looked very angry and packed his stuff because the next class were freshmen and they had a different teacher. After Mr. Maclean got everything up, in a harsh tone he turn towards me and said,

"Miss Johnson, walk with me."

I felt my heart drop. He took me to the other side of the building where the seniors were at. He found an empty class room and made a gesture to come in. I sat down and he looked at me.

"Miss Johnson, why did you blow off on Matt?"

"I'm so sorry Mr. Maclean! I didn't mean to I was just so upset, my best friend died and Matt didn't care. He just asked me out, he just wanted to get into my pants. Matt also called my best friend twat and it hurts. I wasn't going to let him disrespect Mal and me like that. Please understand."

At this point tears were rushing down my face. Mr.Mclean looked at me with sad eyes.

"Miss Johnson calm down. I didn't call you to get in trouble. I called you to tell you that after everything that has happened you still could mange to keep your grade average to an A. So I'm inviting you and two other people to say a speech in front of the whole school about the hardships of life. If you decide to say the speech, let me know. This also can help you in the univesity of your choice."

I looked at him in shock and got up from where I was sitting. I looked at him and said,

" I'll think about it."

I opened the door and walked out to find a crowd of seniors checking me out. I tried to run as fast as I can but when I was about to take off I felt a tight grip on my hand. I was pinned against the wall. When I looked up I felt a whisper in my ear. It was a husky voice. It sent chills down my back.

"I'm sorry for you lost Hayley."

Just that sentence made me shiver all over. I felt my face blush a little and then I remembered that there was only one person in this world that could do that. It was Jacob Philips, the bad boy. We have been friends since 7th grade. When Malcolm wasn't around Jacob was there. It seemed like Jacob only pops up when Malcolm is not around. I looked up at him to find his big blue eyes staring right at me with a smirk you can fit the world in.

"Um it's ok Jacob, what are you doing here in the senior area?"

"Oh ya well I was skipping class and Lydia came running to me and asked if I have seen you. I said no, then she said since she went to class she couldn't find you so she asked me to go find you and that's what I'm doing."

"Ok?"

"So I don't think your going to go to class so let's go to the mall!"

I don't know what he was up to but right now he had a smile that stretched from ear to ear.

"Ok I'll go Jacob."

"Great."

Before he unpinned me, he gave me a light kiss on the lips. It really didn't bother me because believe it or not he did that way to often. The first 50 times I slapped him and yelled at him, after time 51 I really didn't care. I couldn't made him stop.

We got in his black dodge charger. He looked at me before inserting the key. He turned to me with sorry eyes.

"Beautiful I'm not joking when I said I was sorry for your lost. Malcolm was a wonderful guy and a wonderful lab partner and a wonderful football baseball basketball and soccer player. You could always rely on him to pass the ball and I'm really sorry."
