Lydia's POV

Sitting on the couch watching movies with junk food was my perfect night.

My phone started ringing, ugh.

"Hello?" I said with an annoyed tone.

"Someone's grumpy. But guess what?!" Hayley said with excitement.

"Yea because you're calling me in the middle of my movie night."

"You seriously need a boyfriend, Lydia."

"Ugh, I don't want one. They're all just selfish, inconsiderate bitches." I protested.

"Not all of them!"

"Whatever. What do you want?"

"I just went on a date with Jake!"

"Jake as in Jacob Phillips?"

"Yes!"

"I sent him to find you, and so instead of him bringing you back to me, he takes you on a date. How did it even all happen? Was he just like 'Hayley go out with me' or what?"

"I honestly don't know. He just found me and so we went shopping. One thing lead to the next." Hayley laughed.

I was extremely happy for her. I haven't seen her this happy since Malcolm took her on a date, even though they said it wasn't a date. But I'm still not too fond of Jake.

"Hayley, I'm so happy for you!" I screamed.

"Thank you. I hope he's not gonna be a douche bag like all the other guys out there."

"Well, he does have a reputation of a player..."

"I know, but people can change."

"Sure they can." I sarcastically said.

"They can. " Hayley said in a serious tone.

"Ok, ok. So is it like official now. Are you and Jake like boyfriend and girlfriend?"

"I guess. He hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend yet, but we've kissed."

"What kind of guy is he? He kisses you, but won't ask you to be his girlfriend," I stammered. "Douche..."

"Lydia! He hasn't asked me yet. Just please be happy for me."

"I am!"

"Ok good."

"Well I'm gonna go finish watching my movie. See you at school, bye."

"Ok bye!" Hayley replied.

I wonder if Jake is going to help Hayley get over Malcolm.

Damn, the thought of Malcolm just wants to make me burst out into tears. I miss him.

Even though Hayley hasn't said 'I like Malcolm' I know she has, or had, feelings for him. And I know Malcolm had feelings for her too.

I just really hope Jake won't hurt Hayley. Although, I could be wrong. Maybe Jake is her soulmate and will get married and have kids. Probably not, but maybe.

Jacob's POV

I can't believe that I went on a date with Hayley. She is so gorgeous, but I'm not asking her to be mine yet because I know she's still upset about Malcolm, and I don't want to hurt her. Since I have the reputation of a "player" the sluts of the school, AKA the cheerleaders, throw themselves at me. They try to kiss me and turn me on, but I don't see what's attractive about fake boobs, spray tans and dying your hair bleached blonde. I wouldn't want Hayley to see them all over me and get hurt.

Yeah, I know I sound bad saying that, but it's true, I have to keep my rep as well. I'm known as "the player" and "the bad-boy" and I don't want people to know that I have a soft side.

I groaned and buried my face into my pillow after flopping dramatically on my bed. All of this shit is stressing me out. I closed my eyes and tried to get rid of my headache, until my phone rang. "Goddamn it!" I grumbled and answered, not bothering to check who it was. "What do you want?!" I closed my eyes tight and grabbed two ibuprofens. "I-I'm sorry, I'll see you tomorrow..." Hayley's voice trailed off, obviously hurt. "Shit, Hayley, I'm sorry. I didn't see who it was and I have a bad headache. I'll call you later." She agreed and we hung up, leaving me to try sleep off the stress.

I walked into school the next morning, and I knew I looked like shit. My parents kept me up fighting all night, so my little sister Anna, who is four years old, ran into my room and cried, wanting to know why they were fighting.

I ran my fingers through my hair and threw my books in my bag and slammed my locker shut. "Oh, baby, you look awful!" Said the high-pitched (and extremely annoying) voice a cheerleader say. Damn, I don't even know her name and she's acting like she's my girlfriend. She played with my hair with claws she calls fingernails. Hayley walked down the hall, and the girl saw, so she smashed her lips against mine and dug her claws into my back, holding me in place. I heard Hayley gasp quietly and run off. The girl got off of me and smirked, writing her number on my hand in fucking Sharpie. "Call me sometime if you're looking for fun, baby." She winked and walked away, her heels clicking with every step.

I went into the bathroom and turned on the hot water, beginning to scrub off her number. I finally got it off within five minutes, and I ran off to find Hayley. I walked out the doors and saw her sitting against a tree on the other side of the school. Out of no where, someone slapped me hard across the face. "What the hell?!" I shrieked and rubbed my cheek, then looked up to see a very pissed off Lydia. "I should be saying that to you, you man-whore!" She yelled. "God, do you think I like that fake-tanned ass slut?! She threw herself all over me!" I yelled as I pushed by her and ran to Hayley. She looked up at me with a tearstained face and her mascara running.

Yep, I'm a horrible person, I know. "Before you say anything, let me tell you what really happened." She nodded as I sat beside her. "She threw herself on me, and when she saw you come towards us, she kissed me. I hate all of those girls, I would never go out with any of them. And I wouldn't hurt you like that, I promise." She smiled weakly and I laid my hand over hers, which was resting on her knee. "Thank you for telling me. I'm sorry, I'm overreacting..." I smiled and rubbed her hand softly. "You didn't, it's okay, Hayley." I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers and pulled away. She blushed deeply and hid her face in my shoulder. God, this girl is adorable.
