When Fresh fell asleep later that night, it was if his mind was swirling, he was so dizzy. He just wanted a hug, his head was pounding.
When he woke up, however, it was way worse.
"Error, Error! Wake up, his eyes are open! Oh my Freshy Boi, you're ok!" That voice. . . CQ? Fresh's eyes jolted open. Beeping, cold, pain in his chest, the smell of a. . . A hospital? He looked around.
"Ma? What da funk? How, what?" His mother wiped a tear.
"Fresh, you've been in a coma for months!" His mother. . . But she. . . Oh god, it was all a dream. The world crumbling, the save screen, all of it. Wait. . .
"W-where's Geno? A-and Dec?" CQ's eyebrows furrowed.
"Fresh, they. . . They're gone, remember?" Oh god. Oh god. Fresh felt his chest, no, soul, grow heavy.
"I-it was all a dream. . ." He whispered. Tears were in his eyes. Error was watching from the side, worried. His brother was so very different. It was all too confusing.
"So, Fresh, the doc says that you can leave within the hour!" CQ exclaimed. "I'll tell the doctor you're awake!" She then proceeded to happily waltz out of the room.
"Uh-huh. . ." Fresh mumbled. He. . . Everything was a dream. Everything. Fresh reminded himself to breathe, he could feel the panic attack in his chest, just waiting for Fresh to take his first shaky breath. He sat up a little bit, looking over to Error slowly. Was. . . Was he nice now, or was that a dream to? Fresh pulled his knees to his chest. His soul felt like it was imploding, he hated this. He'd been living a fake life.
Error watched his baby brother try to force himself out of a panic attack. It hurt him. It was as if he had forgotten all about Geno and Decans being. . . Gone. It was like he had lived another life while in a coma. Is that even possible? Error had no clue.
"Nng . . . It w-was fake, all fake, fake, fake, fake. . ." Fresh was whispering to himself. Error stood up and grabbed Fresh's arms, forcing his brother to face him.
"Fresh, listen. I don't exactly know what your talking about, but it's ok. You're safe now, you're home now." Error tried to console Fresh, but Fresh curled into himself. He was no longer crying, but was completely still in the ball he had formed. Error put a hand on Fresh's back, but Fresh pulled away and grimaced in pain. Error's bone-brows furrowed. He pulled his hand back and walked out to the hall and to the nearest nurse.
"Excuse me, Ma'am? My brother is in room 420, I think his back might be hurt." He explained to the nurse. She nodded and walked with him back to Fresh's room. Fresh was laying on his 'stomach' and his eyes were clenched closed. The nurse touched Fresh's back, making Fresh flinch but not move. She untied the back of the hospital gown and opened up the top, leaving the bottom tied. ((Where I live, the hospital gowns have three ties so that yer 'stuff' don' get revealed.))
She gasped and pushed a button on Fresh's bed. Moments later, a doctor and CQ both ran in. They saw Fresh's back and CQ turned around.
"Error, was this your doing?" She asked calmly. Error looked over, confused. Fresh's back was covered in what looked to be whiplashes. Error felt tears surfacing.
"I don't even know how to do that sort of damage with my strings!" He cried. CQ pulled him into a hug and whispered in his ear.
"Go wait outside, okay? I'll call Com, I think we're gonna be here for a while."
