Dark carries me out of the building, forever keeping me away from it. He sets me in the backseat, climbing inside with me. We sit there for a few seconds, taking in the realization of what just happened.

He shakes his head, almost throwing away his thoughts. Grabbing out the medical kit, he begins to clean my wounds. Just because demons have quick healing doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like a bitch. I'll have scars, too, only reminding me of what took place today.

Once he was done, he gave me a blanket and wrapped his arm around me in a side hug.

I look away from him, silently crying.

"Are you okay?" He asks with concern laced in his voice.

"I-I'm fine!" I cry, turning and burying myself in his warm chest. I've missed you.

He wraps both arms around me, kissing my head in the process. We continue to sit there, basking in each other's warmth and presence. It took half an hour before my crying died down, only then turning into sniffles.

"I-it hurts, Dark. It hurts a lot," I whimper, feeling my largest wound burn.

"I'm so sorry, baby. What did he do to you?" He pulls me closer, rubbing my back.

"H-he... he put acid into my veins... he stabbed me, he experimented on me." Tears threatened to spill again, but I took a whiff of Dark's scent, reminding myself of where I was. "I don't feel safe anywhere anymore except with you and Seán. I know Die's dead but..." I sigh, "but I'm still scared."

"You? Scared? My, my, Anti, who knew you could ever get scared? The most powerful demon, scared," Dark lightly teases me.

"Yeah, I know right?" I smile, liking how he was trying to brighten the mood.

"How about this: I call Sean and ask if we can stay there for a bit. I want you to feel safe."

I nod, "yeah, that sounds good."

"Okay, now lets get home. I can call him on the way."

"Okay. Thank you, Dark."

"You're welcome. I'd do anything for you. I love you so much," he says, kissing my cheek.

"I love you too." I laugh suddenly. "We're demons, supposedly frightening, deathly creatures, but look at us. Saying the cheesiest things."

He chuckles, climbing into the drivers seat while I sit in the passenger seat. Dark holds his phone up to his ear. It rings twice until my brother answers.

"Dark? What's the matter?" Seán's voice was dripping with worry.

"Anti had a little incident with Die, and we want to get away for awhile. I'll explain later or Anti can if he wants. Can we stay with you and Mark for a bit?"

"Yeah, yeah sure. Is Anti okay? Can I talk to him?" Dark looks at me and I nod. "Here he is."

"H-hey Jack," I greet into the phone, looking outside of the window.

"Anti? Are you okay? What happened? Did Die hurt you?" All these question we're giving me a headache, but I chose to answer them anyway.

"Yeah, I'm okay, I guess. I don't want to explain everything over the phone, but yes, he did... hurt me." I swallow the lump in my throat.

"Oh Anti, my baby brother, I'm so sorry."

"No, it's not your fault. Don't apologize."

"When are you guys going to be here?" He asks, still obviously feeling guilty.

"Tomorrow... I think. I'd text you, but... never mind. Dark will call when we're on our way. Thank you," I sigh with little emotion.

"It's no problem, baby bro, I'll see you tomorrow then. Love you, bye."

"Love you, too. Bye," I whisper.

I hand Dark back his phone and we sit in silence. He speaks up soon after, his eyebrows pushed together in confusion. "Why can't you text him?"

"Die took my phone. Smashed it actually. Luckily, I backed up all my photos and stuff," I mumble.

"Oh... I'll order you another phone later then."

The rest of the car ride is silent.
