Soft snores continue to echo through the room as Dark slept beside me. His arm is wrapped loosely around my waist, warming me. Usually, I would've been able to fall asleep at how stressful the day was. I would've been ready to fall asleep and fly through a stress free world.
But unfortunately, the memories that had been forgotten started glitching themselves back inside of my head. Chills run up and down my arms, making me snuggle more into Dark's side.
I couldn't stop picturing it. Although I didn't have all the memories, I pieced everything together. Die's screams were non-existent. He didn't... he didn't even have a chance. I remember Dark screaming my name and then sudden silence. I remember Quinton screaming at me, "what did you do?!" I remember sudden darkness and then the brightest light I've ever witnessed.
My heart jabs at my ribs, and I take in a sharp breath, realizing that negative thoughts were starting to enter my mind. I sit up, taking in a deep breath. Anxiety still creeps up, but I push it away, hoping I can give myself time before they start up again.
I scoot to the edge of the bed and stand up, shivering at the sudden cold. Wrapping my arms around myself, I creak open the door and walk to my office.
The chair scrunches under my weight and I turn my computer monitor on. I search for games until my head feels as if it were on fire. Images flicker through my irises as more memories buzz inside my head. I watch, as if I'm slow motion, Die's body turn into sand. His eyes had faded away as they stared lifelessly into mine. His skin turned black as it turned into ash. He mouthed 'Quinton' before fully fading away. It horrifies me, making my screams louder than ever before.
My chair suddenly flies from under me as I stand. My vision goes in and out, and I don't even know where I'm standing. Suddenly, I slam into a wall, my breath leaving me. My sight is clouded and glitchy. I can hear nothing but my heartbeat. Something touches my face, and I surprisingly melt into it. My hearing sense then comes back and it's like an atomic bomb erupts in my head.
"Anti, can you hear me? Say something, please. Oh fuck, please say something. Seán, we need you down here now. Something's happening with Anti. Please, hurry."
My vision starts to focus and it sharpens on Dark's face. My eyes flicker from his eyes to his lips; oh, how they're trembling makes me want to kiss them. I stare in a daze at him before he speaks again, and I feel an abrupt sting on my face.
My head begins to clear, but my body collapses in his arms. "M-monster." That's all I could choke out.
