When I looked over at Dark, his facial expression was furtive. He was biting his lip, gnawing on it harshly.
"Dark, stop, you didn't know," I say, reaching over and placing my palm on his cold cheek.
"I killed him, Anti, I killed him. He was our friend. I was so blind with anger... he had done such terrible things to you and I couldn't take it. It wasn't his fault. Someone blackmailed him or corrupted him. He didn't do it on purpose."
Unexpectedly, there were tears filling Dark's eyes. "I'm so stupid."
Abruptly, I grasp the wheel and pull myself over the arm rest. I sit on his lap, taking control
"Anti, what-"
"Hush it, one second. Take your foot off the gas, I'm driving."
He didn't bother to argue, he just did as I asked. His hands rest on my sides. While I keep my left foot on the gas, I turned my body slightly so I could look at him. Rotating my head to look at the road every few seconds, I kissed him on the cheek. Once, twice, and I didn't stop until he was smiling and his tears dried up.
"I love you so much. It wasn't your fault. You didn't know. We didn't know. He was practically killing me. You had a right to do that," I skillfully turn the wheel and pull into our driveway.
I then fully spun so I was looking straight at him, straddling his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hug him. It was slightly uncomfortable from the position we were in, but it worked.
"I'm going inside. I just want you to be okay. Have a good day at work, okay?"
"Baby, I don't have to go back. They didn't need me there today. It was slow and there wasn't really any paperwork since they had gotten it done while we were in L.A."
I laid my head on his chest, "that's fucking awesome."
We stay in that position until I decid to speak up, "so... what now?"
He chuckles and wriggles around a bit. "Well, we could go inside and watch tv or something."
"Yeah..." I sigh, letting us stay in that position for a few more seconds before backing out of his warmth and opening the car door, failing to get my legs unstuck, and falling straight on the cement driveway.
"Are you okay?" He laughs, climbing out and helping me up.
"Yeah," I say with a smile.
He licks his finger and rubs my cheek, "god, you need to take a shower."
"Oh, yeah, that would be a good idea too," I say, waiting for Dark to ask the question.
"Can I join you?" He asks, wrapping his arm around my waist as he waits for me to unlock the front door.
"I don't know, is my hair green?" I sass.
He shakes his head with a grin, "I'll start the water."
-
As he grabs an extra towel from the closet out in the hallway, I begin to undress, stopping my hands from going further once they reach my pants. I, of course, have seen what was on my legs and under my shirt. Dark hasn't, not past the major wound. I haven't let him shower with me since we got home.
"Can I come in?" He knocks on the door because I had locked it.
"U-um... give me a sec," I say, whispering 'breathe' to myself once my heart starts to beat faster.
"He loves you. You're okay. Breathe, Anti, breathe," I reassure, feeling the shaking go down.
I take the rest of my clothes off, quickly unlocking the door and jumping in the shower before he can even open the door.
"Are you okay, babe?" He asks, probably taking off his own clothes.
"Y-yeah, just-" I see his hand start to pull back the curtain to step in. I push it back, my breathing going funky again.
"W-wait, Dark, please," I say, my body shivering.
"What's the matter?" He asks, concern lacing his voice.
"I-I'm not the same. M-my legs... my stomach... my chest... they're not the same like before. They're... they're... I-I can't explain it. I'm scared," I say truthfully, finally being able to breathe.
"Baby, it's okay to be scared. But I promise, there's nothing to be scared of. Let me in, please," he says and I remove my hand from holding the curtain in place.
He steps in and my shoulders hit the wall while water treads down my skin.
He looks me up and down before taking a small step forward and grasping my hand lightly. He leaves kisses up my arm. He kisses my shoulder, then my chest. He kisses the bruises and cuts on my thighs. Then he stands back up and kisses my lips.
"I promise that I will always kiss every scar you have. Every cut and every bruise. The ones that were made by you and the ones that weren't, which happens to be the case here. I love you so much. Never be afraid to show me something or tell me words. I will always be here for you. Now, come here," he opens his arms and I immediately go towards him.
Tears trail down my face as the shower water mixes in with them. It a good type of crying, though. For once.
"I-I love you too," I choke out.
