This is one of the books of the author whose style I'm so in love with.
As I've already mentioned once that I just love historical romance whether it's Jane Austen's infamous books or this author's. I simply can't live without it.
Historical romance have a thing about them that the contemporary romance can never have as good as it may be. It's so royal so classic that I can't help it.
The same happens in this book too. If being a tale as old as time and as old as love wasn't enough it is also set in a dystopian world which just adds more charm to it.
If you want to read something entirely fresh but which contains the emotions capable of creating a rush in you then go for this book, for it will not disappoint you.
It has just the right amount of everything.
And how can I forget the protagonist, she's all I ever wish to be. She's smart, she's witty, she's stubborn, yet hopeless romantic and above all she's fearless. She'll surprise you at every step the same way she's been surprising Calan, our poor boy.
But at the end of the day this book will give you the much needed lesson. Lesson about the treasure we are all after in our lives.
I'll let you discover that lesson on your own.
For it will change the way you look at things the same way it did to me.
And furthermore the language, the literary skills is on point. Any lover of literature as art is bound to fall in love with this book if not the entire series.
Favourite character: Without a doubt it's Calan. That guy deserves a pat on the back to endure and to do what he did. But I guess the prize that he got at the end was fair enough for everything he had to go through.
