Lukas loved to swim.

Jesse, his boyfriend, couldn't swim.

Lukas was swimming in their garden pool, gliding elegantly through the water whilst Jesse watched, drinking a lemonade with ice cubes, staying safely away from the edge. Lukas swam to a ledge, putting his elbows on it so he could see and talk to Jesse.
"Cmon Jesse. Get in the pool already." Lukas said, giving his boyfriend a smile.
"Lukas you know I can't swim," Jesse protested, glaring at the blonde. Lukas smiled.
"Yea that's why I could teach you to swim." Lukas replied, matter of factly, something he'd tried to convince Jesse about many times. The brunette shook his head.

Lukas sighed, chewing his lip as he tried to find a way to convince his boyfriend to let him,
"Why not?" Lukas asked, pushing his dripping fringe from his eyes.
"Because, Lukas, I don't want to." Jesse replied, matter of factly. "Besides since when were you a swimming teacher?"
"Since never," Lukas admitted. "Still, what could go wrong?"
"I could drown." Jesse replied, matter of factly.
"Trust me Jesse." Lukas pleaded. "Besides learning to swim could save your life someday." Jesse frowned, not wanting to admit that the blonde was right.
"You're not going to leave me alone until I agree are you?" Jesse asked in an irritable tone.
"Nope," Lukas stated with a bright smile. Jesse groaned and went upstairs to grab some swimming stuff.

He came back down in deep blue swimming trunks, arms crossed, giving his boyfriend an annoyed look.
"Cheer up Jesse..." Lukas said, trying to cheer him up. Jesse's frowned more.
"Ok Lukas. Half an hour then I'm getting out." Jesse stared. Lukas nodded in understanding, heading to the shallow end to make it easier for Jesse.

OK, put your arms in front of you, legs of the floor and kick." Lukas instructed. Jesse hesitated then did, Lukas helping support him.
"What now?" Jesse asked.
"Move your arms like I do in front of you and I'll let go." Lukas replied. Jesse did and was soon swimming, albeit not well but enough to actually make progress.

Later, when both boys were out; dry and dressed, Jesse sat next to Lukas on the sofa with two hot chocolates.
"Thanks for getting me to do that Lukas." he said, smiling, wrapping an arm around the blonde who'd helped him conquer the refusal to swim. His boyfriend who'd loved him enough to help him.
