(If you wanna get in the headspace I got into to write this I listened to walking in the wind by one direction)
The wind was cold that night, Calum had forgot to shut the balcony door and Luke was much too cold to even think about leaving his bed. Even though he was comfortable, he couldn't fall asleep somehow, maybe it was the unfamiliarity, maybe it was the weird smell of hotel but either way he was wide awake in his bed.
It wasn't any better that there seemed to be an aching feeling in his heart, one he hadn't felt in a long time, a longing for something, more specifically someone. It wasn't like he never felt heartbreak constantly ever since crystal, in fact everyday he could feel it but on this particular night it hurt, every inch of his body hurt from the pain, from the lack of his boyfriend.
He felt it in his head, the swarming thoughts of why he wasn't good enough, the memories of them together, the constant message ringing through his head like a broken record What if you've lost him completely. He felt it in his body, the coldness that needed Michael to be wrapped around, the tightness in his chest, the pain in his heart, lungs feeling crushed whilst he held the urge to cry. He felt it everywhere, he hadn't had a night like this in forever, he didn't want to completely fall apart whilst in the same bed as Calum.
Luke took deep breaths before getting out of his bed and walked over to his suitcase where he dug to the bottom to find the hoodie that once belonged to Michael. Sliding it over his body the smell overcame him, Luke bit his lip trying so hard not to break down, not in here, not yet. After putting some socks on, failing numerous times from shaking so badly he finally was warm enough to walk out of the doors and onto the balcony, closing them behind him.
The view was gorgeous, he could see the Eiffel tower and the beautiful city lights that seemed to be everywhere. Luke sat on the floor, wrapping the hoodie tighter around him and completely ignoring the chairs around him. He closed his eyes and let a few tears drop before an ugly sob over took him, he held his knees to his chest letting the sadness consume him.
He sobbed harder trying not to wake anybody up, he didn't want anybody to know about this, he wanted to seem strong. Luke gripped onto his pants trying to refrain himself from screaming, an overwhelming sense of anger took over, how could Michael let this happen!? Luke had tried numerous amounts of times, why couldn't he?? How dare Michael get that stupid crystal, how dare he let them get so close, how dare he, how dare he. Luke's sobs unintentionally grew louder, his knuckles white from gripping onto his pants and his lip bled from biting onto it so hard.
An arm wrapped around his torso and Luke fell into the persons body not caring who is was, he let his cries free and held onto the body, who he recognised as Calums, whilst he let himself cry and sob uncontrollably. Calums hand stroked his back whilst he cried in his arms.
"It's alright Luke" Calum reassured, still holding onto him, Luke not wanting to let go.
"No it's not!" Luke cried through sobs, it wasn't alright, nothing would be alright unless Michael was with him now. Calum would never understand, nobody would understand, he was incomplete without him, he wasn't whole.
"It will be Luke, I know he loves you, I know he misses you" He told Luke and held him tighter.
"How do you know any of that? He hasn't shown any signs of any of that! I've tried and he hasn't put any effort in back. None at all" He continued and Calum sighed.
