Chapter 3

Melanie's POV

When I got out of the shower, I smelled something cooking downstairs.

I went down what was happening and saw my dad cooking, which he only does on a special occasion.

"Why are you cooking?" I asked him.

"Because Sydney is coming over," he said.

Sydney is dad's girlfriend that he met on Match.com

I don't care for Sydney that much. I mean, dad could do better.

"Why is she coming over?"

Sydney hasn't been over since, umm... 2 hours ago! She practically fricking lives here!

My dad started talking, which broke me out of my thoughts.

"I want you and Jessica to dress up nice for dinner, Mel," he told me.

"Dad-" I started before his phone rang. "Hang on, baby. This will only be a minute."

I thought it was just Sydney, so I rolled my eyes and went to tell Jess to get dressed.

Laura's (Brent's mom) POV

When we walked into the airport in Boston, I went into the bathroom so the kids wouldn't hear me make a phone call.

I called my realtor, Paul Dawson, who will also be my neighbor.

(M=me P=Paul)

P- Hello? Laura?

M- Yes. Hello, Paul. I was wondering what we are supposed to do now.

P- You guys off the plane?

M- Yes.

P- Ok. My daughters birthday is in 2 days, and she can't know who bought the house yet.

M- So we have to try to keep Mel away from the house and keep my kids inside.

P- Yes. I want to thank you again for doing this for me.

M- No problem. Brent would do anything for his fans.

P- Have you told them yet?

M- I'm about to. I have to go and see if the kids are still in one piece. Goodbye!
We'll see you soon.

P- Bye. And thanks again!

I hung up my phone and went to my kids so we could walk out the door to get a taxi.

Once we all got in, I told the kids what we were doing. They all seemed excited, even Brent. He loves doing whatever he can do to make his fans happy.
