Jessica's POV

I was in the backseat texting Hayes, when Mel screamed.

A truck slammed into her side, so I wasn't hurt. But Mel wasn't so lucky.

I called 911 and a few seconds later, I could already hear the sirens from the police and ambulances.

I made my way out of car, and just started crying.

I already lost my mom. I can't loose my big sister the same way.

My phone started to ring and I saw that Hayes was calling me.

"H-h-hello?" I said sniffling.

"Jess? Where are you guys? We're all waiting for you," Hayes said to me.

"There's been an accident," I said starting to cry again.

"What?! What happened?! Is Mel ok?!" Brent said in the background. Hayes must have his phone on speaker.

"A truck slammed into us. Mel-Mel-she's not ok," I cried.

"Where are you? We're all coming," Hayes said.

I told him where we-I- was and they were here very quickly. The guys came and we followed the ambulance to the hospital.

I cried into Hayes' chest until we were at the hospital.

Brent's POV

This can't be happening! She can't die.

This makes no sense. How can she get so hurt, but whoever did this to her be fine?

We got to the hospital and I went straight to the desk were a nurse was.

"We're here for Melanie Dawson," I said quickly to her. I looked up and I saw someone duck their head and made their way to the exit very quickly. That made me worried.

She typed her name in the computer then said, "Room 103. But only one person at a time please. She's in a coma."

A weird noise slipped out of my mouth then I ran to her room.

I went in and saw her lifeless body just laying there.

Tubes in her arms. A cast on her right leg and on her left arm.

I sat down on her right side and held her hand.

Once I sat, I cried harder then I ever did before.

Melanie's POV

Everything's black.

I heard a door open and someone sat down next to me, held my hand, then started crying really hard.

I tried to open my eyes to see who it was, but I couldn't.

Then I realized I couldn't move at all. Not my fingers. Not my hand. Nothing. My whole body was stiff.

I wanted to cry out when I heard a familiar voice.

"Oh my god Mel. I'm sorry."

It was Brent.

"I should have been there with you. I'm so sorry."

I wanted to tell him it wasn't his fault, but he kept talking.

"I promise when you wake up, I won't let anything bad happen to you. I won't leave your side. I'll protect you. Because I really like you."

Then he kissed me. He kept saying "Stay with me. Stay with me." Like the song. Then cried more.
