I tried to push off the encounter to the back of my mind as I went on with the rest of my day. 'It will all be fine...' I sighed to myself as I watered the different plants I cared for. 'All I will need to do is avoid Bakugou as much as possible and not draw any attention to myself.' This was all easier said than done.
---
I trudged through the rain as it beat against the umbrella shielding me. The rain made the walk feel like it was never ending as the over cast clouds gave everything a dull tint. The streets were empty except for the occasional car or student hurrying to get out of the down pour.
All that occupied my mind was the thought of Bakugou finding out because of his need to pry into my life. I couldn't even begin to imagine the worst case scenario. My thoughts, however, were interrupted.
"Hey, (F/n)! How was your mini break?" Kirishima asked as he sped up to walk beside me and smiled. "I assume you got home okay after the party?" He nudged me. I thought about the stresses the last few days had brought upon me. "Yeah, it was pretty good I guess... And I got home fine after I realized where I was." I lied, but he seemed to believe it. He was so genuine it hurt to keep lying to him, not that I was in a place to stop doing so.
"Sorry to drag you to that party, by the way." He looked at me and gave me a sheepish smile. "I noticed you seemed uncomfortable the entire time." I shook my head. "I was just tired." Another lie fell from my mouth.

"Alright class." Aizawa said, calling everyone's attention. "Everyone will be participating in internships with a hero that showed interest in them during the sports festival. Some of you were a lot more popular than others." He said as he pulled up a hologram of the names in the class with the number of people interested. Excited murmurs filled the room as everyone looked for their name on the list.
I scanned it and saw mine towards the bottom with 8. "At least I got some...' I thought as I looked to Midoriya's name with a zero beside it.
"Before this, you will all need to pick a hero name. To make sure you take this seriously, I have brought someone to help." As if on cue, Midnight, the R rated hero, walked in. "It is important that you all are serious about these names. The title you pick now could stick with you for the rest of your career." She said as she pointed the whip in her hand.
The chalk boards were passed around and we were given time to think about it before presenting. I stared at the empty slate as I thought. 'I had so many ideas in middle school, but none of them seem to fit me now...' I sighed.
-
"Alright, the only ones left are Midoriya, Bakugou, and (L/n), correct?" Midnight asked. I took a deep breath and stood up. "I can go..." I said nervously. The fact that it very well could stick with me for the rest of my hero career weighed on me as I stood in front of the class.
"My hero name will be..." I turned the board around to face the class. "Stem..." It wasn't the best name but for what I could think up on the spot, I didn't hate it. It was short and neutral enough not to stand out. "Stem, huh... It has a good ring to it." Midnight smiled and I went back to my seat. The entire time, I could feel a sharp pair of eyes on me the entire time.

"So what agency are you interning at?" Kirishima asked as I sat down. "I don't know, I didn't get a lot of offers." I said and Bakugou glared at me. "Of course you didn't, who want's a weakling like you?" I shot a glance at him. "If I remember correctly... You placed first but Todoroki still got more offers." I smiled smugly as he clenched his jaw.
"I see you two are still getting along just as well." Kirishima laughed at the tension. "Oh, that reminds me." The red head turned to Bakugou. "Where did you go after you left the party? I stopped by your house the next afternoon and your mom said you still hadn't come back. You also didn't answer my texts for a long time." I could tell he was worried about his friend, but I had a sneaking suspicion his feelings for the hot headed blonde were more than friendly.
"I went and got food and then I had to help that dumb ass home." He grumbled and she shot me another sharp look. Kirishima looked at me surprised. "I thought you said you got home alright?" My web of lies was slowly collapsing thread by thread. "I mean I ran into a little bit of trouble but Bakugou stepped in, other than that I got home fine..." I said quietly. "Oh, so you stayed with (F/n). That makes me feel a lot better. I thought maybe you slept outside somewhere." Kirishima said with a smile, but behind it he seemed a little hurt.
'Looks like I'm not the only faker here...'
