Sylis POV
The forest was decorated with golden lights above our heads and tiki torches placed along the aisle and wither side of the white arch that went over the alter. The forest floor was covered with white flower petals that trailed down the make shift aisle and lead to the spot where we currently stood.
Our hands were clasped together as we stood at in front of the priest, his beautiful green eyes glistening with tears as he looked up at me with his lips stretched into a grin. He looked more than just handsome as he stood in front of me, showing off his gray and white tux with a little bow tie neatly placed around his neck.
When it came time for us to say 'I do' we did so without breaking eye contact, and Atticus obviously said 'I do' with his own little twist on it by saying 'Atticus do's.' His eyes holing so much love when he said his line that it made my heart melt and my knees weak on the spot.
Tears slipped down his cheeks as I slipped his ring on his finger and as he slipped my ring on my finger I gently wiped his them away causing him to nuzzle his face into my palm. I couldn't stop the smile from forming on my face as he did this simple gesture. I chuckled as I heard Jackie's camera shutter go off multiple times as she sat front row next to Eric, who was trying to tell her to turn the volume down so it wouldn't ruin the moment. What he didn't know was that nothing in the world could ruin this moment for me.
"You may now kiss the groom." the priest said, wearing a smile on his lips as we leaned in and locked lips.
Everyone in the pews cheered as our lips slowly moved together and I could here Jackie's camera shutter going off like crazy as I devoured my husbands mouth. I pulled away, still holding him close as I pressed our foreheads together.
"I love you Atticus." I whispered softly, my thumb rubbing his wet cheek gently.
"Lovies Sylis." he purred, standing on his toes and pecking me on the lips.
"Come on lets go dance." I said with a smile as I took his hand once the music started playing
My eyebrows furrowed together as I realized he wasn't following me, his feet planted in the same spot.
"Sy-Sylis?" he whimpered softly as I turned around to look at him, his hand still in mine.
"Atticus? Whats Wrong?" I asked softly, noticing how his skin became paler as the seconds passed by.
"A-Atticus n-no's fe-feels goods." he whimpered blinking hard and pulling his hand out of mine.
I watched him take off his clip on bow tie and slip his hand under his collar, bringing it back out only to see his fingers coated in blood.
"Sy-Sylis." he whimpered, his knees beginning to buckle underneath him.
"Atticus!" I shouted, catching his body as he collapsed.
Slowly I lowered us to the floor, fear shaking me to my core as I saw blood spreading across his tux.
"At-Atticus no's go's." he said softly, tears spilling down his cheeks as he looked up at me.
"Y-you're not going anywhere little pest." I cooed, cupping his cheek." Somebody help me! Get the pack doctor!" I yelled, as Eric and Jackie came running towards us.
Rain began pouring from the sky, the flames of the tiki torches hissing in pain as they flickered out. Atticus gripped my hand with his smaller one, a sad smile forming on his lips as he looked up at me.
"At-Atticus g-go's. Lo-vies S-ylis." he said softly, his voice weak and broken as he struggled to keep his eyes open.
"No baby, stay with me. Keep your eyes open okay? Stay with me." I begged, tears forming in my eyes as the life began draining from his green orbs. "Baby?" I cooed, his eyes fluttering closed."No! Atticus! Baby open your eyes please!" I cried, pressing my forehead to his.
I stained my ears to listen to his heart beat, a lump forming in my throat as it became softer and softer until I could no longer hear it.
"Somebody help me! Please!" I screamed with tears streaming down my cheeks.
"He's gone Sylis." An angelic voice whispered in my ear.
"No! No he's not!" I screamed, my body trembling as my entire world began shattering in front of my eyes.
"Yes, Sylis. He's safe in my kingdom now. Far far away from you." the Moon Goddess said sternly.
"Why?! Why are you doing this?!" I sobbed, holding his body as close to me as I could.
"He was never yours to begin with Sylis. I decided to experiment. To see what would happen when two people who were never meant to be together were mated to each other. In the end the results were catastrophic. So I decided to put Atticus with who he rightfully belongs too. I also choose this event to show the world that I am no longer giving people who reject their mates another chance. If they reject them, the person who got rejected will die and the rejector will suffer for the rest of their life. I'm using this experiment to show them they need to learn that the person who is chosen as their mate is meant for them. They need to learn to accept their mate no matter what sex, race, or breed their partner is. Don't worry about him Sylis. I made sure to wipe you from his memories, so he doesn't even know your alive. All he knows is he died in the attack when he was a child and he is with the person who deserves him." she said, her voice cold and harsh. "You on the other hand. You never had a mate to begin with. You are the child of the Devil, you were always destined to be alone." She hissed.
A sob tore through my chest and mixed with the rumble of thunder above. The pain I had felt in the past could not compare to the pain I felt now as my heart shattered inside my chest.
"She took him from me." I whispered hoarsely as Eric sank down to my level. "She took him away from me!" i screamed, my body trembling as I held the lifeless body of the man I fell in love with.
"Don't fucking touch me!" I roared as I felt Eric place his hand on my shoulder.
My hand trembled as I cupped Atticus's face in my hand, a new wave of pain consuming my body as I pressed my lips to his lifeless ones.
He is gone.
My little pest is gone.
