it was day one on set. the movie moon-cross lovers was starting to film today. a typical romance movie with a twist. nothing special. boy who's a werewolf meets a girl who's he falls in love with. but they can't be together because...well he's a werewolf. so when the moon become full, he turns her into a werewolf.
damien finn - the original werewolf, 17, lives in the woods of the girl's hometown. played by cameron boyce.
kameerah karson - the outspoken girl, 16, lives in Cedar Falls, small town in Washington state. played by china anne mcclain.
cameron boyce was a disney actor, looking for a clean, and nice break from disney. when he auditioned, the casting director thought it was the perfect opportunity for a publicity grab. "disney's golden boy gone rouge." and he's a damn good actor.
china anne mcclain was a disney girl as well. in fact, cameron and china have been in 4 movies together, 2 of them disney. china had already had a nice and quiet break from disney, and was looking for a project to get her name out there. the casting director knew she had some pipes, and they would get points for diversity for casting her. also, she was a underrated actress, no doubt. so the casting director put them in for a chemistry read. saw they had some tension, the worst kind. so formed Johnson's (the casting director) idea. his plan was to make the two extremely sexually frustrated, and then, let them have at it for the last scene. his advisors and directors were skeptical, but he pitched the "sex sells." approach. so now here we are, first day of filming.
china arrived first, along with a supporting actress named dove cameron. who played her best friend. also a disney girl. they spent the weekend designing their dressing rooms. the project was meant to make some big bucks. the budget was 50 million, which wasn't a lot, but the director was determined to make it work.
"good morning." she chirped. china was always happy. she had a glowing personality, but her role was a sassy teen with daddy issues.
"morning. there is breakfast at craft services." johnson said, smiling. when dove and china walked off, cameron walked in with another supporting actor. his best friend actually. karan brar, another disney boy. 2 sitcoms, and 1 dcom. china had one 3 dcoms and 1 sitcom. cameron has 2 sitcoms and 3 dcoms. dove had done 1 sitcom and 3 dcoms. all disney kids looking to calmly cut their ties.
now, china and cameron had history. they've liked each other for a while but neither has admitted it. but in this movie, they were going to have to kiss, have sex, all of that.
"hey china." cameron said, coming to craft services, giving china a hug.
"hey cam." she smiled. the four young adults conversed among themselves as the crew got ready.
"okay guys, so were gonna start with the scene where damien and kameerah have their first kiss, and jessica (dove's role) and nathan (karan's role) establish they have a connection." mr. mysta explained. he was the director.
"let me get china and cameron." he said. china and cameron walk onto set. they position themselves in the classroom.
"action!" he yelled. the scene is in italics.
kameerah groaned in frustration. damien angrily pounded his fist on the table.
"great! now we're stuck in this piece of shit." kameerah shouted.
"that damn janitor. i swear to god..." damien trailed off. kameerah slid down the door in defeat.
"why does everything happen to me?" she asks, in sadness.
"what do you mean? miss head cheerleader, captain of the dance team, our school's best writer, and activist." he smiled as said.
"that's just on the surface. what people don't see is this weak, scared, ugly little girl." she said, wiping a stray tear.
"hey! your one of the strongest girls i know. your brave, and really beautiful. don't doubt yourself." damien assured.
"oh really? if i was so beautiful, why didn't you notice i existed till today?" she asked.
"i've noticed, but i was too afraid. an amazing girl like you has got her life planned to the t. i'm pretty sure i'm not apart of that plan." he explained.
"a sweet, supportive, caring guy? of course your apart of that plan." she said.
"an insecure, ugly, stupid girl? not apart of it." she continued. he laid his hand on her cheek.
"i don't wanna hear that. your so much better than that. your literally the prettiest girl here. and the smartest. the fact that no guy has tried to get with you is surprising. but good for me." he said.
"what do you mean?" she asked. he leaned in so there were inches apart.
"that means it's fair game." he said, then gently placed his lips on her. they deepen the kiss by adding tongue. damien lays his hands on kameerah's butt, and her waist, pulling in closer to him. kameerah wrapped her arms around his shoulders. he picked her up and laid her on the table. he takes it up a notch and starts to leave love bites on her neck.
"and cut!" the director yelled. the two actors smiled and high-fived each other.
"great job. i didn't know you could kiss like that." cameron said. china smirked.
"maybe because you've never tried..." china said, and walked off. cameron shook his head in astonishment. he chuckled, softly touched his bottle lip, and headed the opposite direction.
"you saw the chemistry? we're gonna put their names back out there, and get two crazy kids together. i love the film industry." mr. mysta smiled. he was a wise, old, jolly man with great intentions. who knows? maybe this plan could work.
