filmed had wrapped for the day and china and cameron were at their cabin. china was set on making the cabin feel more like home. since she didn't have any scenes yesterday, she ordered a lot of home decor to really make the place feel home-like. due to one-day delievery, china was able to transform the old, dusty, cold cabin into a roomy loft space.
cameron was running lines with himself for a big scene the next day. china had finally put the last touches on the cabin they had decided to stay in for the rest of filming. it was rustic, yet playful. modern, yet classic. the perfect blend of china and cameron's personalities. cameron had taken a break to look at china's work.
"looks great, chi." he said, snaking her arms around her waist from behind. she rested her head on his shoulder.
"thanks, cam. i really hoped you'd like it." she said.
"if you made it, i like it." cameron responded. china blushed at his comment. butterflies in her stomach going off, she rested her hand on top of his.
"i thought i would cook tonight. that okay?" china asked.
"yeah, only if i can help." cameron said.
"i just finished this cabin, i don't want it to burn down." china chuckled.
"oh shut up, i can totally whip up something good!" cameron exclaimed.
"...right," china joked sarcastically. cam rolled his eyes playfully.
"you can help me, how about that?" china compromised.
"great. i'll go get changed." cameron said.
"i should probably change, too." china said. after they changed, it was time for the chaos to ensue.
"okay, i was thinking homemade pizza." china suggested.
"one of the many things in my repertoire of cooking skills." cameron joked.
"boy, bye. you burn water." china snickered. cameron put his hand to his chest in fake hurt as china laughed at him.
"so you prepare the dough while i start on the sauce. you can prepare the dough, right?" china teased.
"of course i can. and it's going to be the best freaking dough you've ever tasted. just watch." cameron smiled. china felt herself smile simply from seeing cam's smile.
"i'm going to play some music." china said. she put on "hey ya" by outkast.
"1, 2, 3!" cameron said as the song started. he started to prance around and kneed the dough.
"stop, your getting it everywhere." china laughed. he grabbed her hands and started to dance with her. the pure look of joy on her face made cameron's heart flutter. they had tabled pizza-making for a hot second to have a jam session. when the song was over, "all i do" by stevie wonder came on. they calmed down and got back to making the pizza.
"i forgot how much fun i have hanging out with you..." cameron started.
"me too. you're just so energetic and happy. i need that in my life." china said. cameron smiled.
"all i do...is think about you." china sang quietly as she worked.
"i need you in my life, period." cameron said.
"why? i'm just your average, run-of-the-mill girl." china said.
"are you kidding? not by a long shot. you're one of the most unique people i know." cameron explained.
"you don't have to hype me up, cam." china said, mixing the sauce.
"i'm only speaking the purest and truest of facts." cameron said. china simply nodded in disagreement.
"drop the spoon and come here." cameron said. china listed to him. he dragged her to the mirror on the cabin.
"repeat after me: i. am. awesome. i. am. amazing. i. am. talented. i. am. beautiful." cameron said.
"cameron..." china trailed off. cameron nodded his head.
"we're not moving until you say it, chi. i love you too much to watch you talk bad about yourself." cam said. china repeated what he said.
"i know you don't believe it, but you will. if it's the last thing i do china anne mcclain, i will make you love yourself the way i love you." cameron whispered.
