Chapter 14| Trials

"What about me how am I going to go?" I asked. "Stay in the lounge area and we'll come and get you before we leave" Harry said. "Okay, but you'll have to be quick!" I said. "Okay, we'll see you tonight" Hermione said. " Hey! We haven't talked in ages!" Pansy said.

"Pansy! How was your Christmas?" I asked. "It was good and yours?" She said. "It was good I got some good presents" I said. "Ooh like what" she said. " I got a mirror box and some jewelry" I said.

"What about you?" I asked. "I got some jewelry as well not much but it's good enough" she said smiling. " I'm going to head to bed because I'm exhausted, but I hope we can talk later" she said. "Of course" I said hugging her. I saw many kids walk up to their beds.

I sat on the couch waiting for them to come get me. I was waiting and Draco sat down next to me. " what're you doing. Shouldn't you be asleep" he said. " shouldn't you be asleep!" I fired back. "Yes but I'm up because you're up" he said.

"Why?" I asked. "Because I can't get proper sleep if you're not getting proper sleep" he said. "While that's sweet I'm not going to forgive you Draco" I said. "What can I do to make it up to you" Draco said. I hear a knock on the door and stood up " don't tell anyone that I left and maybe we'll be cool" I said heading towards the door as he gave me a slight smile.

"Ow! You stood on my foot!" Hermione said. "Sorry. " Ron said. "Alohomora." Hermione said unlocking the door. The door opens and we go in. "Wait a minute...he's....Sleeping." I said.

"Snape's already been here. He's put a spell on the harp" Harry said approaching the dog.  "Uh. It's got horrible breath!" Ron said. "We have to move its paw." Harry said. "What?!" Ron said.

"Come on! Okay. Push! I'll go first. Don't follow until I give you a sign. If something bad happens, get yourselves out...Does it seem a bit...quiet?" Harry said as fluffy opened his eyes. " The harp. It stopped playing." Hermione said. Drool from one head comes down on Ron's shoulder. "Ew! Yuck! Ugh." Ron exclaimed.we all looked up and saw Fluffy standing there. Fluffy barked and growled thrashing.

It breaks the harp and dives at us. "Jump! Go! " Harry said as we all jump in. "Ahh!  Whoa. Lucky this plant-thing is here, really. " Ron said. We were sitting in something like Mushy black rope like vines . "Whoa! Ooh! Aah!" Harry said as the plant started to tie all of us down.

"Stop moving, all of you. This is Devil's Snare. You have to relax. If you don't, it will only kill you faster." Hermione said. "Kill us faster?! Oh, now I can relax!" Ron exclaimed. Hermione manages a smile as she is sucked down below. "Hermione!!" We exclaim.  "Now what are we gonna do?!" Ron said.

"Just relax!" Hermione said. "Hermione! Where are you?!" I asked . "Do what I say. Trust me." Hermione yelled. I relaxed my body and am sucked down.  Harry also relaxes and is sucked through.

"Ahh! Harry! Y/N!" Ron yelled.  "Are you okay?" Harry asked me helping me up. "Yeah, thanks" I said. "Help!" Ron screamed. "He's not relaxing, is he?" Hermione said.

"Apparently not." Harry said. "Help! Help me!" Ron yelled again.  "We've got to do something!" Hermione said. "What?" Harry asked.  "Uh! I remember reading something in Herbology. Um Devil's Snare, Devil's Scare, it's deadly fun...but will sulk in the sun! That's it! Devil's Snare hates sunlight! Lumus Solem! " a beam of light shoots out of hermione's wand and ron falls through and hits the ground.

" Ahhh!" Ron exclaimed still screaming. "Ron, are you okay?" Harry asked. "Yeah. Whew. Lucky we didn't panic!" Ron said.
"Lucky Hermione pays attention in Herbology." Harry said.
"What is that?"  Hermione said.

" I don't know. Sounds like wings." Harry said.  We enter into a room filled with golden "birds." "Curious. I've never seen birds like these." Hermione said. "They're not birds, they're keys. And I'll bet one of them fits that door. " Harry said. We walked forwards to see a broom floating in the air.
