Thomas POV:
I liked this time of year. It's cold and beautiful white flakes fall from the sky, making trees and rooftops a site to see. My backyard was no exception. The wooden bench we had was covered in white snow that made it look like a beautiful laminated picture. I had my coat and I was finding it hard to breathe.
Well of course I was, I was currently being held in a head-lock by my brother.
"J-Jeffery! L-Let Go!" I struggled saying as he only tightened his grip.
"What did I tell you to say in a situation like this??" He said smirking, cold air coming from his nose and mouth. There was also cold air coming out of my mouth as well, but in large puffs.
"Ugh!" I grunted. "Uncle! UNCLE!" I said as he tightened his grip even more. I've had enough.
I managed to get control of my arm and elbow him, causing him to let go and fall back, clutching his stomach. He quickly kicked me, making me fall back. It would have been a hard fall if it wasn't for the thick layer of snow.
"What are you two boys doing?!" Me and my brother both heard. The voice echoed throughout the backyard, making me and my brother look at each other with terror. I think I even wet my pants a little, and I don't think it was just the snow melting.
Our father came out from the house, stomping through the snow to get to us. Once he did, he grabbed us both by the ear, and guided us inside the house and to the couch in our living room. He sat us both on the couch.
"What the hell is wrong with you two?!" My dad whisper shouted. "I left you out there for only 20 minutes and you both are already killing each other??"
"He started chocking me first! I didn't lay a finger on him!" I whisper shouted back.
"He said that Basketball was stupid, and that I would never make it to the big leagues! I told him to take it back and he didn't." Jeffery said, defending himself.
"Oh I saw the whole thing play out." He said frustrated, pinching the brim of his nose with his eyes shut tight. "Listen, no more fighting today. I want you two to go to school and I'm telling you, if me or your mother have to pick one or both of you up early for anything remotely bad, there will be consequences. Understand? You won't go to the game on Saturday." He said it a deep tone of voice, pointing at Jeffery, making me and my brother want to jump out of our skin. We quickly nodded, grabbed our book bags then headed to school.
We were both walking side by side, scared more than anything.
"I-I'm sorry for saying Basketball was stupid." I said hesitantly.
He stayed silent for a moment, brushing some hair with a pick he brought
"It's okay. I shouldn't have snapped." He said after a minute. I sighed with relief.
Today we were just walking to school and we were wearing the same thing like we do all the time. Today, our cloths were navy sweaters, and under white and red striped wool shirt. We wore black pants and white Nikes. Just a simple outfit.
As we were walking, I saw a group of kids who were always together. I don't think I've seen them apart.
"Are you checking out one of the girls there?" My brother asked, elbowing me while wiggling his eyebrows.
"W-what? No!" I said. "Plus, I think they are gay or something like that."
"You never know. Then again, I'm not the one who looks at girls." He said as we continued walking.
Jeffery was a jock head. No doubt about it. He always showed off with sports and everything in the category. Me, I was more a quiet person. I was still popular, but mainly for the fact that me and Jeffery were identical.
That's right, I'm apparently the other half of this idiot. I mean, we have our ups and downs but I still love him for who he is. I can't really be mad at him for all the times he's helped me with bullies and-
"YO! Green Twins!"
Great.
Joey came running to me and Jeffery, along with our friends Amy, Marcus, and Sophie walking behind.
"Hey guys and gals." Jeffery said.
"Non-Binary Pals!" I finished after, pointing to Marcus. He rolled his eyes and bowed.
We always met up with them on our way to school. They were a good group of friends that we had and they were really cool.
Amy likes books, is really quiet, and is super nice. She keeps to herself and doesn't really talk to anyone about her problems.
Sophie is probably the most mature out of everyone. She super smart and doesn't like to waste time. She can be really open about her opinions and she doesn't hold any words she wants to say back.
Marcus is.....I don't know. They are super cool and they are very loyal. They're figuring stuff out right now with themselves and we are all supportive of them.
Joey.....he doesn't need explaining.
After a few minutes, we walked into the school.
Unfortunately, greeted by Ryan. The biggest ass in our school.
"What's up black boys?" He says, shoving me and Jeffery to the ground.
"Hey, leave them alone." Sophie said, walking up to Ryan, having to lookup since he was almost six feet high.
"What are you going to do about it?" He said, spitting in her face in the process. Me and Jeffery got up.
"Say it don't spray it." Joey said. He needed to shut up, one of these days, he will get himself killed. He walked to Ryan and stepped on his shoes.......fan-tastic.
He stepped off and there was a dirty shoe imprint on Ryan's white shoes.
"What the heck dude!? My dad is gunna kill me!" He said, examining his shoes."That's what you get." Sophie said smirking.
"......Yeah." Amy said quietly.
"Guys, let's just go." Jeffery said as we walked away.
"That's right! Walk away faggot jock!" Ryan yelled to Jeffery. I rubbed my hand on my brothers back, trying to cheer him up.
"Don't worry, we'll get him." I said.
He only nodded.
