"What if I'm stuck here?"

Mercury

Somewhere during the hours that we were flying to Clint's safe house, I fell asleep. I don't remember falling asleep let alone being laid on my side and covered with a warm blanket. I just remember waking up to the jet rattling a bit, stirring me from my heavy slumber.

My eyes shot up as I looked around the dark interior of the jet. Nat was curled against Bruce as she stared blankly ahead, probably wondering how she could have easily been compromised by a kid. Thor and Steve were both standing, each on opposite ends of the jet.

Thor was brooding with had fist rested under his chin while Steve's hands cling to his belt as he just stared at his shield resting against the wall.

The team looked broken, as Steve will say, they looked like they were picked apart like cotton candy.

I didn't see Tony anywhere so when I turned to sit up I was shocked to see him sitting next to me, upright with his hands intertwined in his lap. He was blankly starting off toward the ground but my movements quickly broke him from that trance. He turned to me with tired eyes and a small whimper fell from my lips.

I didn't think it was noticeable, I as aiming to be a bit more discrete but Tony noticed. He just smirked and rubbed his palms into his eyes, "That bad huh?"

I gave him a sympathetic smile which was probably the last thing he needed. I sat up and let the blanket fall to my lap, stretching my aching bones from laying on an uncomfortable surface.

"How you doing, champ?" Tony asked me.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't even know anymore. I've never done anything like that before."

"Yeah," Tony smirked. "Everyone's first time is a little rough on the body."

I glared at him and he just smiled, "Sorry force of habit."

"Trust me, I know."

There was a small silence between the two of us as the small weight of what I just said settled. I hadn't realized I probably knew more about everyone on the this jet then they did each other. It was unnerving for me but probably more for them.

"Gosh this is so weird," Tony sighed as he ran a hand across his face. "You probably know more about us then we know about each other."

I was scared slightly at the fact I had just thought that but comforted at the fact that we were on the same page.

"It's unnerving but in same way I feel like I have a connection with everyone. I don't know I guess it's because I've watched your lives for the past eight years," I mumbled looking at my hands, fumbling with my fingers.
