"Ok thank you for saving our lives back there, but anyway I don't know you're names." Darcy said as she plopped down in a chair.

"Oh right. Well I'm Anna, but I like to be called Noel. This is June, she's the second oldest, but she likes to be called Tera. This is Heather the middle child, but she wants to be called Kara. This one is Lillian she's the second youngest, and likes to be called Lilly. The youngest...is Amber...she is in New York, in a hospital. She'll be coming as soon as she's out of there." I said to her. She smiled before I told her about Amber.

"Well why don't we get the girls settled in first. I'll show you your room." she said while getting up. We walked down a hallway and walked into a spacious room. The girls ran to the beds they wanted and plopped down onto them.

"Ok girls, settle down. I'm pretty sure you're all tired from walking here, so get some rest, ok?" I asked. They nodded their heads. I looked out the window to see the sun setting. It took us hours to get to the apartment by foot. After almost being in a wreck the girls didn't want to get into a cab, so we had to walk.

"Noel will you tuck us in?" Lillian asked. I smiled and walked over to her and tucked her in and planted a kiss on her forehead. I did the same to Kara and Tera. I walked to the door and walked out. I turned to walk back to the kitchen ad saw Darcy smirking at me.

"What?" I whispered.

"Oh nothing, it's just that I don't know how you can control what the girls do. I mean like in the car, the way you got them to say hi to me. You're like the baby whisperer." she said. I rolled my eyes and walked with her to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and took out an apple. I just washed it when I heard Jane call out for Darcy. I dropped the apple and ran to where I heard Janes voice. I turned a corner and saw Jane and Darcy holding hands and jumping in unison while squealing.

"What is going on?" I asked. They turned to me with smiles that went from ear to ear. "Tell me!" I demanded.

"Jane got a date tomorrow!" Darcy shrieked. I rolled my eyes at them and just let it go. I turned around only to walk into a wall. I heard Darcy snicker a bit and I swear I heard Jane giggle a bit.

"Still adjusting around here." I mumbled. I got up and made sure I wouldn't run into anymore walls. I walked back into the kitchen and picked my apple up off the floor and washed it again. I took a bite and went over to the tv and sat on the couch. I turned it on and the news came up. I scowled, went to the guide and changed it to a movie, only to find out that it was canceled and there was the news reporting on the attack on New York. I went onto every channel and the same thing as before. I got annoyed and turn the tv off. I threw away my apple core and walked over to where Jane was.

"Hey Jane, do you have any books I could read?" I asked she turned to me and nodded, she then pointed to a bookshelf.

"See of there's anything you like." she told me.

"Thanks." I walked over to the shelf and looked at the books. I chose a book on constellations. I put the book back and sat cross legged on the floor with my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands, crying as the memories came flooding back to me.

"Noel? Is everything ok?" I heard Jane ask. I shook my head no. "Well what's wrong then?" I looked up at her, my vision blurred by tears.

"The battle." I managed to get out.

"What bat-Oh. Do you want to tell me how it affected you?" she asked. I calmed myself down and took a deep breath.

"My parents died in the battle. I saw the battle on the tv, and when they didn't come home that evening I convinced myself that they were still alive, just trapped in the rubble. The next day I find out that they're dead. I got over it a little knowing that they're still watching over me, but when Amber got hurt and had to go to the hospital. I, I just broke on the inside. I been wearing a mask so the girls wouldn't know how broken I am. I had to be strong for them. Then the car incident, them almost dying, I wasn't scared that I would die, I was afraid that they would. I. I just don't know how long I can keep this mask on for them." I blurted out. I saw Jane look at me with remorse. She opened her arms and I ran into them. She started to stroke my hair, trying to calm me down. It felt like she was my mom, when I needed comforting she would always hug me and stroke my hair. We were interrupted by Janes phone going off. I pulled back and smiled, I mouthed the words 'Thank you' to her and she smiled answering the phone. I walked out and went to the bedroom for some rest.
