NOAH

I studied her, wondering why I've never seen her before.

"I'm Noah." I reached out to shake her hand, and she hesitantly slipped her's into mine.

"Nice to meet you." I can barely hear her voice, even though she is sitting barely two feet away. Mrs.Setti finished calling out partners and was coming around, passing out the rubric for the project.

She smiled at the girl, and nodded at me. I handed the paper to... Allie, was it? Whatever. I handed her the paper, and pulled out my phone. I texted Connor.

N: pt n a good wrd 4 me!!

C: jeez jst met her. lemme gt 2 no her b4 I throw a relationshp w/ u n her face!

N: fne!

I sighed, and slipped the phone back in my pocket. I sat there for a couple seconds before I realised I was being watched.

"What?" I asked her.

"Nothing...just..." she started.

"What?" I asked again.

"You do know this is a group project, right?"

Woah. Where did the attitude come from?

"Yeah, I know that." I state.

"That means we have to work together. Not me working and you on your phone." she said, then continued reviewing the rubric.

"Fine. Give me the paper." I snapped. I looked at it. It was the standard crap:

Geez, it was like she expected us to build Rome in a day. Allie was scribbling something down in a notebook, and when I leaned over her shoulder to look at it, she flinched. That was weird. Whatever, I don't have time for some nervous twitchy chick, I needed to focus on how to get Aria.

"So Allie, what are you scribbling?" I asked her, not really caring, watching how Aria laughed at something Connor said. I caught his eye and sent him a glare. He cleared his throat, and turned towards his note book.

"First off, its Ava, not Allie. Secondly, I'm working on the project which you are, instead of focusing on, drooling over some wannabe bitch." she says in a whisper with attitude. The bell rings, and she grabs her ratty old Jan-sport backpack and walks out of the class without another word.
