AVA

Kaylee and I were just talking, when I turned to get something out of my backpack, and I got hit, square in the chest with pizza. It soaked through my shirt. Tears welled up in my eyes as everyone started to laugh at me. This was just what I needed, the scholarship freak with a messed up home life, getting food thrown all over me. It was more material for everyone to make fun of me. I ran out of that godforsaken cafeteria as fast as I could.

"Ava! Wait!" Kaylee yelled from behind me, but I ignored her as I sped to the nearest bathroom. I ran in locked myself in a stall and sank down to the floor, holding back sobs as tears ran down my cheeks. I hated that they could make me cry. I hated the look of victory on Aria's face. I hated the sound of their mocking laughter.

"Ava, sweety, will you let me in?" Kaylee asked as she softly knocked on the stall door. I didn't say say anything as I got up and unlocked the door.

"Oh, you poor thing. Those b*stards!!" Kaylee said as she pulled me into a hug. "C'mon, little girl, lets get you changed." she cooed at me. Normally I hate it when she talks to me like that, but every once in a while it made me feel better.

"But I don't have extra clothes." I sniffled.

"Don't you worry about that, I've gotcha covered." she says as she pulled a long sleeved cream dress from her bag.

"Kaylee, what is this?" I ask her. This is too nice for me. This is too expensive for me.

"I always have a spare outfit in my bag, silly. Oh! I almost forgot the accessories." She exclaimed as she pulls out a daisy flower crown and a pair of cream sandals.

"Kaylee, I can't pull this off." I say, not willing to dirty the beautiful out fit.

"Nonsense. Now, go change." she says as she pushes me back into the bathroom stall.
