Theas POV
It was a few days since the boys started their training and they were all groaning at any movement they made, complaining how their ears hurt from the sound of gunshots and being sweaty. They were really fucking sweaty.
But even with all the intense training we had put them through, they still have a long way to go.
We decided to let them have a break for today because overworking their muscles and minds with no breaks would damage them.
But that doesn't mean that they still didn't get up at the same time and stick to their diet of meats and greens. No sugar.
We were all sitting around the fireplace, warming our legs from the flames and bodies with a nice cup of tea.
Of course however, we are still the same people so we didn't get along for too long.
It first started off with Gilinsky talking shit about Stone. "He's an ugly prick, you'd have to be desperate to go back to something like that. Well of course you are desperate, you'd hump anything with a fucking pulse."
The disgusted look on Gilinskys face angered Kayleigh more than what he said about her husband. But of corse, the boys were too dumb to notice that.
"Yeah well at least my husband likes me, Grayson just fucking uses Thea for money from the races and fights."
I shrugged off her insult. It surprised me how shit it was, Gilinsky being disgusted at her must have shocked her into forgetting her good comebacks.
"I actually haven't fought in a while, races but not in any comps." I shrugged and took a sip of my tea, staring into ye flames watching as they flickered different colours, the wood beneath them crackling.
"Yeah right, you always fight. Whether it's in a ring or not. It's actually sad that it's the only thing you can do"
My mind seemed to be far away into the flames as I answered subconsciously. "Not always. I don't always fight back"
The faces looked confused but I just cleared my throat, pulling me from the trance of the fire.
As I reached up to put my cup on the mantle piece I heard someone whisper a "I knew it"
When I turned back around all eyes were still on me. "It's Grayson isn't it?" Nash asked me quietly.
I squinted my eyes at him. "Look kid, if your jealous of something then get the fuck over it. Me and Gray are going out. He may be a shit boyfriend but I'm a shit girlfriend so we match."
I shrugged casually although my heart was pounding, wanting them to drop the subject like it was a ducking hot potato.
To calm my racing heart I stood up, wiping the dirt from my clothes.
Right as I turned to leave for the bathroom my heart shook and I was suddenly back in that place.
Something smashed off the wall, glass flying everywhere and two hands pushed me by my shoulders till I was backed against a wall.
I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the blow about to make my lip burst again or add another bruise onto my cheek.
"I'm sorry" I whispered, thinking that he wanted me to apologise and then he could start the beating.
