Is there any reward for good other than good?
Surah Ar-Rahman; verse 60

"You should chill out bro Ok! All this pacing is making me hungrier and you have nothing in this grand penthouse of yours!" Walid said while putting a piece of dorito in his mouth and chewing loudly. Gosh he can be quite annoying a times!
"I have a whole range of food here ok man. We just have different definitions of food" I said hinting at his junk food.
"Just because it tastes better than tuna and potatoes doesn't make it junk ok! I'm really craving some good quality icecream with oreos"
"Whatever!" I ignorned him.
I was pacing my room, unable to comprehend how exactly I got myself into this mess. My mother made it very clear that she wasn't joking; not even a little bit. Apparently my father blindly agreed to get me (his only son) married to his good friend's daughter. He was probably a miserly middle class man who took his friendship with my dad as an advantage to make money off of his presumably ugly daughter. I know it's harsh but it is the truth.
There couldn't have been any worst timing than this! I had wanted to tell my mother about the Cassie issue and probably after a little scolding she'd help me figure things out with her.
Father screwed up everything! I would obviously have to get married to the ugly girl because my father had already promised her father and our family NEVER break our promises. Hopefully she'll say no but who I'm I kidding really?! No one could ever say no to the 2018's currently sexiest man on the planet!
But hey! This is me you're talking about...I'll have to think of a backup plan.
"Earth to Zayd! Are you Ok man? You seem to be really up tight and trust me it's a little unnerving"
"Uhm...my mum told me at the restaurant that I am to get married.."
"Wait! What?!" Walid blurted and almost chocked on his food. I narrated everything to him and told him of how messed up I was feeling.
"Ehem! Mr Zayd excuse me but your mother just called and said that you're late for the dinner" Natasha said and turned to exit the room. Apart from my own mother, she is the only woman I could trust. I needed to hear what she had to say about my 'to be bride'. I know it seems foolish to some people but I could never for go wisdom from elders.
"Hey...Nat.." I said and related the whole marriage issue to her, neglecting the Cassie part cause she didn't need to know.
I looked at her intensely as she knitted her brows in deep thought. Strands of her grey hair fell from her loose bun.
"You know...it might not be as bad as you think. Your parents love you a lot and I know that they wouldn't do it if they did not think that it would be the best thing for you. God has specifically predestined how things would go about and we have no say in the future. The best thing I can tell you is to pray to your Lord. He has all our answers dear" With that, she excused herself out of my room leaving me to my thoughts.
