A/N: So i'm adding some plot I guess... sad stuff incoming. Sorry.

The next few weeks were normal for Beverly. Her love for Bill grew and his for her did too. Bill still talked to Emily a bit but he didn't act any more then a friend to her after they had their talk.
But Beverly and the other losers couldn't help but notice Emily's growing crush on Bill. He didn't seem to notice. Always staring at Beverly when he wasn't doing anything. She always blushed when Bill would look at her.
Bill was getting worse with how he treated Emily due to the jokes she'd make. I don't think she knows we are dating... Every time Beverly left for the bathroom, (which was quite often, school can be stressful for someone with a past like Beverly's) Emily would make jokes about what she is doing in there. The Losers club knew she was smoking. It wasn't mentioned. Just noted. But Emily would say she's crying for being so annoying. Those Bill could stand to an extent.
But one day when Beverly was extremely upset due to lack of sleep. She rushed to the bathroom and Emily was quick to add into Bill's ear. "I've heard some rumors. I bet she's banging half the football team in there!" Laughing to herself, Bill stood up and excused himself. He went into the boys bathroom and sat in a stall.
Beverly had given him a few cigarettes because his father leaving and Georgie and everything from their summer just got to him sometimes. Licking the dryness on his lips he slipped the stick into his mouth. He lit it and pulled long and hard. Shuddering as he let it out.
"Care to share, Bill?" Bill knew that voice. That was Richie in the stall next to him. He stuck the cigarette underneath and Richie grabbed him. Hearing Richie use it and then Bill took it back. "Thanks. My mom's been a bit rough on me lately."
Bill knew Mrs. Tozier could get bad with him. She didn't like the way he expressed himself. Meaning his personalities or voices. Richie liked to pretend to be someone brave or strong when he was scared. It made things easier for him. But when it was just Richie and Bill, he could be himself sometimes. Depending on the mood.
"Duh-does she t-think he's coming buh-back?" Bill asked. Meaning Richie's dad who stepped out about a year ago. "Yeah, she's still blaming me too. Saying I annoyed him too much." It's always the same with Mrs. Tozier. It's normally just the severity of punishment that worries everyone. "You always have me Richie. Whenever you need it." Bill pulled his cigarette again, already forgetting about Emily annoying him. "Thanks Bill, you are a true friend."
After a few moments of silence, Bill heard a plopping noise. "Are y-you shitting, R-ruh-richie?!" He said in shock as they had a normal conversation just a few seconds ago. "This is a bloody bathroom innit Billiam!" He said in a british accent. Bill was about to call it gross but remembered his mom. Handing Richie the remainder of the cigarette he began walking out. Stopping at the door to add, "N-never change, T-tozier."
Stepping into the hallway he was greeted with Beverly's face as she exited her bathroom. "Oh hey, Beverly." Bill said, she waved and continued walking back to class. He stepped over and grabbed her hand. She planted a kiss on his cheek.
The next period Bill and Beverly had Richie in their English class. He was back to normal from what Bill could see. His usual class clown persona. He got kicked out 15 minutes into class. As he did, he had a sad look as is considering his mom was right. Bill stood up and began clapping. The most embarrassing thing he has ever done.
Heat building in his face as he said in a funny voice. "Well done, well done, Mr. Tozier. We will be seeing you again on this show next week!" It was Richie's show host voice and his face immediately lit up. Smilingly gleefully and about to respond before being pushed out of the room by the teacher.
Sitting back down, everyone was staring at him. Including Beverly who was laughing so hard she thought she'd fall out of her chair.
"Beverly, the teacher is talking with Richie. Do you maybe want to go?" He realized it sounded stupid. Closing his eyes and rubbing the back of his neck in discomfort. She grabbed his other hand and they started walking out of the room.
The teacher's back was turned towards the door and Richie winked at Bill. Beverly held in a giggle as they quietly went around the corner into a different hallway. "I'm glad that I get to experience 'Rebel Bill' again, but where are we even going?" She was giggling as he led her through the halls. "In all honesty, I have no clue."
They ran through the halls, dodging teachers and eventually found and empty classroom. "Really? No t-teacher at all? How interesting..." Bill said this slyly as he raised an eyebrow to her. "No Bill. No funny business. What if we get caught?" He moved over to her and put his hands onto her hips. "Buh-bev, that's half the fun." He lifted her onto the desk as he began kissing her. He felt her smile against his lips.
They left the classroom, making sure the coast was clear and both red in the face. "B-bev wait." She turned to him in confusion and he reached for her shirt. Buttoning the top of her shirt. She blushed and playfully pushed him, "Wouldn't be a problem if you didn't unbutton it in the first place."
"I wouldn't unb-button them if you didn't tell me that you... oh w-what did you say. 'I n-need you?'" She walked away with Bill laughing behind her.
They walked around until the bell and went to the other classes. The teacher didn't even notice they were gone or if he did. He didn't care. Finishing up their other classes, they began heading home.
Upon reaching Bill's house, they greeted Bill's mom and hung out in his room. The hot air was still outside from summer and the A/C was off. Too lazy to turn it on, Beverly looked over at Bill as he was rubbing ice on his head. "Billll. I could go for ice cream."
"Done. You request it, i'll get it. All the way down at T-tuh-tony's Ice Cream Parlor." Beverly grabbed his arm laughing. "Bill I was joking. Stoppp." He wiggled out of her grip with a grin. "No no no. You a-asked for it. I g-got this!" He ran for the door. She looked out her window as Bill hopped on Silver. He looked up at her. She could barely see him as the sun was setting. Both waving goodbye even though he'd be gone for barely 15 minutes. And he pedaled off.
That's when Beverly dropped her glass of water. The liquid soaking into his carpet. Her blood curdling scream heard through the house. The stop of Bill's moms piano and the screech of brakes. Only then did Bill see the headlights. Those two bright, burning headlights. Peering into his soul. But he had been more focused on the redness floating in the passenger seat. Not just any red object.

A red balloon.
