"Help me make the most of freedom and of pleasure" -- Tears For Fears

"Release me! I demand you release me!" A young girl yelled. "I can walk on my own."

The guards dropped her but remained close. This girl was a peasant girl with dusty red hair and green eyes. Her pale skin stained with mud and freckles. She and several other kids, with variations of age, were escorted into the castle of Flammae. The king waited for his newest batch of soldiers.

At the kings side waited a young girl who seemed rather bored. She wore a simple gown as if she couldn't even be bothered to do much else.

"These are them? The eldest child of every house of Flareon street?" The king asked.

"Yes," a single knight replied.

"No," the peasant girl defiantly corrected.

"I'm sorry?" The king asked,

"I've got an older brother who's only seventeen and no longer lives with me." The peasant girl held her chin up high.

"Where is he now?" The king asked.

"Far away from here," the girl snorted.

"What is your name, girl?" The king asked.

"Taurus. Taurus Borealis" The peasant girl made eye contact with the king.

"Do not make eye contact with the king, girl," a knight shoved her face away.

"At ease, Sagittarius. Her defiance is quite refreshing. She may be useful in the battlefield," the king mused.

Sagittarius has messy brown hair with serious helmet head. He had a bored yet solemn face. He had tan skin and freckles sorting his check and nose. His milk chocolate eyes were permanently drooping.

"Why are we sending children to fight?" The Princess asked.

"Quiet, Libra," The king hushed his daughter.

Princess Libra had black hair. She was Asian and the loveliest maiden in all the land. Wait, what is this? Snow White? She wore a diamond tiara with a mint gown. She looked irritated and generally unhappy.

"I'm the eldest of my household. I should be out there as well." Princess Libra was as defiant as Taurus, thought more well reasoned.

"You will not, and that is final," the king declared.

"Why? Don't think a girl can fight?" Taurus asked.

"You will only speak to the royals when spoken too." Sagittarius hit the girl in the back of the head.

"If I thought a girl couldn't fight, then you wouldn't be sent into battle," the king said.

"My apologies, then. That must be why you're sending us to battle. So we can fight," the girl gave I'm a smile. "And then so we can die a pointless death, because kids shouldn't be fighting wars."

Libra eyed this defiant young girl. She may be onto something. The moment her father died, Libra would bring peace to the kingdom. She watched Sagittarius too. He seemed uneasy. Taurus' defiance seemed to make him far too uncomfortable.

"Take them to their sleeping area," the king announced.

Sagittarius bowed, followed by the kids. "Yes, your highness."
