LEAH
The queen frowned, lounging in her egg shaped throne as a maid had informed her of Draco’s request of an audience. Her spear was at her lap, the blades glinting as she absentmindedly played with the shards of soulstone bouncing off her fingers. She was glad it was Mina who woke her up this time, choosing a dress within her favour. The pristine white cloth fell upon her figure loosely covering even her feet and showing off her shoulders and collarbone. Her sleeves were slightly puffy with slits on the sides and ended on the cuffs on her wrist. Underneath the dress she still wore her poleyns of gold and iron accompanied with her platform sandals, she hardly removed them as it served as a comfort for her. Unlike her usual ponytail, Mina had braided her hair into an intricate bun and placed a hairpin with a diamond shaped amethyst dangling from it. She did not wear her crown as the amethyst itself could identify her status, it was the country’s signature symbol and it was decided that only her could use an amethyst fashioned like a diamond, it highlighted her lilac eyes too. She wore no additional jewellery as it only wore her down.
Heavy footsteps were heard but she did not bother standing straight, lazily her eyes swept over to her brother who frowned at her state. For a few seconds he stayed like that until he dismissed all the guards and maids stationed in the room, they obeyed not wanting a taste of the general’s wrath.
“What brings you here, dear brother of mine?” she smiled sweetly and laughed on the inside when Draco just rolled his eyes, suddenly he noticed the short figure just behind Draco’s towering height. Curiously she fixed herself and tilted her head to get a better view of the figure.
She frowned when she caught a glimpse of silver, what the hell was he doing here? Did Draco chase him down? She didn’t remember giving him an order, to be frank she didn’t want the assassin around anymore. To hell with his skills, when he had defended his master she hated how ignorant he was to the truth or maybe he knew but was believing a lie he had created.
Ignorant people were something she couldn’t stand, if not ignorant people who refuse to see the truth right in front of them.
“What is he doing here?” she narrowed her eyes as the figure stepped out and revealed itself
“I have something to discuss with you.” the assassin’s voice rang loud and clear in the throne room, he did not bow nor averted his eyes. He had faced her with his head held high, eyes determined. Her eyes widened a bit, and Draco seemed hesitant on how to act, usually he would berate such people.
People who were bold and stood up for themselves or something they believe in were the ones she liked, especially people who would dare look at her in the eye with Draco present. She bit her lip discreetly, not sure if she liked this assassin or not. But he had earned her approval on listening to whatever he would like to talk about.
She set her face to be void of emotion as she spoke coldly
“Pray tell what is it you wanted to discuss?”
“Me being a general.” She sneaked a glance at her brother who stayed stoic as ever
“I did offer such a position didn’t I?” she tapped her chin as if thinking thoughtfully when in reality she didn’t know what to answer. She had a lot of doubts.
“Yes, after being saved and brought back by Draco I’ve thought about it.”
Saved?
She decided to ignore that statement for a while
“It’s suspicious, you suddenly agreeing when you said no the first time I’ve offered it to you.”
“Understandable..” the assassin murmured
