Beauty Sleep

KAI P.O.V

I freshened up and came out of the bathroom and plopped down on the bed. In the darkness, Luna came and snuggled close to me. I absent-mindedly stroked her fur as I thought about Lily. She sure was someone unique. I could feel myself falling for her. I never thought I would love someone, after I had learnt to block out all emotions. But when I was around her, I couldn't help feeling happy. I was lost in her thought and did not hear the door open. Someone came in and stubbed their toe on the rack.

'Who is it?' I asked, annoyed.

'Your death,' The voice whispered.

'Ha ha,' I muttered, smiling in the dark. She laughed and I felt the bed dip beside me. Luna sensed her and leaped onto the sofa, leaving us alone.

'So death, what brings you here?' I asked.

'I really need my beauty sleep. Tala's snoring too loudly!' Lily complained. I chuckled.

'And..' She whispered.

'And?' I asked.

'Huh? No-Nothing.' She mumbled.

'Tell me.'

'You will laugh at me!' She whined.

'Promise. I won't.'

'Really?'

'Really.'

'I missed sleeping next to you.' She whispered, lying down and snuggling close to me. God! This girl was going to be the death of me!

'So, I get to be your overprotective boyfriend?' I grinned.

'Flirt,' She rolled her eyes.

'Deal with it.' I kissed her nose, earning a giggle.
