Chapter One
Dean's P.O.V.
This is the story of when I found my escape from this painful world. I think you'll fall in love with her just as quickly as I did.
Finally, geometry, normally I'd be dreading this class, but this year It's my last class of the day. Even though it's just the first day of school, I still can't wait to get out of here. After going to Winchester Public School for three years of middle school, you learn to hate everything about it. The dingy smell, the crowded rooms and hallways, even the people are awful. If they aren't completely fake then they're flat out annoying. In other words, it's been a lonely three years. But, that was supposed to all change, this being freshman year of high school and all. But no, it's all pretty much the same, just new faces.
Class just started and all the seats are taken, but the one beside me. Which is strange, usually all the classes are full, unless someones just late, which honestly wouldn't be surprising, except all the usual suspects where here... So, who wasn't? A tall black and blond figure flashed passed the cracked open door, then the heavy pair of footsteps pounding in the hallway came to a quick halt. Slowly the footsteps tapped the floor tracking back to the class room. Then with a sudden jerk, the door swung open. In the door way there was a tall girl with long sandy blond hair, big ice cold blue eyes, and a flawless complexion. She was clutching on to a small stack of papers and what looked like a journal in her hands. She was beautiful. She was wearing black skinny jeans, a Falling In Reverse band T, a teal sweater, black nail polish, and teal vans. Her eyes fluttered to the teacher, and she quickly rushed to Mr. Tricks.
"I''m sorry I'm late, it's my first year here and I managed to get fairly lost. It wont happen again." the girl appologetically informed Mr. Tricks while gasping for breath.
"Oh, I'm sure. Now please, do take a seat." Mr. Tricks replied confidently.
She slowly turned to face the entire class gazing at her with silent glares. Her eyes scanned the room and she soon spotted the only open seat. The seat directly to my right. I quickly came to the realization that the way I was staring at her would potentially come across as creepy, I quickly looked down at the desk, I could feel my grey beanie shifting as I tilted my head. Oh God please help me to remain socially ecceptable and not undeniably awkward as usual... She quickly shuffled to my desk and gracefully slid into the seat beside me. I lifted my head and watched her unlatch her shoulder - supported Zumi bag. She pulled out a thin notebook and a green and pink mechanical pencil. She had neatly stacked her journal on her stack of papers, which appeared to be notes from open house about classes, a map of the school, and a community service time sheet of some sort, in the far right corner of the desk we shared. She then paused and glanced at me watching her from the corner of her eye, after she realized I was watching her, and I realized she saw me watching her, we both quickly looked away. I slid lower into my chair, and into a more comfortable position and crossed my arms. She began to fiddle with the sleeves of her sweater with her nimble fingers. For the rest of the period we stayed in these constant states of awkwardness.
It was now 3:43 and we had two minutes till the first day of school was over. I hadn't pulled anything out during class, meaning I hadn't taken any notes on the class rules. The new girl had unpacked at the beginning of class so she slowly slid all her belongings back into her bag, other than the small stack of papers and her journal. I began glancing about the room, toning out Mr. Tricks's monotone voice to the point it began to fall into the background. Sam, one of the closest things I have to a best friend at this school, caught my eye, he was to my left at the neighboring desk to mine. He and I were looking at each other now, he moved his eyes towards the new girl and smirked. I just looked back at him with a smirk and lifted my eyebrows as if to say "I know right."
