Flashback
"Hey! Wait up" little Seungminie giggled as he try to catch up to his friend y/n. "Seungmin, you look so cute running~" "Thank y-you " "Hey Seungmin, when we grow up, me must marry each other" "Of course. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. You're the only one in my heart" the little boy says as he places her hand on his chest.

Little did you know that Chan was listening to everything behind a small tree. Little Chan was heartbroken as his first love never liked him back.

End of flashback

Third person

Today was Valentine's Day and Chan and Seungmin knew it was finally time to man up and confess. Problem was that the two friends are seeing the same girl. The night before, Chan had stayed up to make chocolate treats for y/n and he made sure all his efforts and love goes into it.

Seungmin was nervous but he knew she'd choose him. Chan and Seungmin had to act like they actually got along really well for y/n when in reality they wanted y/n all to themselves.

As y/n got out of her classroom to head home, Chan decided this was his chance. This is it. This is the only way you will get out of the friend zone. He started to try approaching her but BAM! The most dreaded person appears. SEUNG TO THE FRICKIN MIN! But there's no time to lose. Chan makes a run for it skidding right in front of the both of you.

"Oh Chan. Uh hi? Do you...need anything? Seungmin's about to tell me something if you don't mind" "Ha, yeh if you won't mind, Chan" Seungmin scoffed, emphasising on his name. "Um, Seungmin can wait. It's really important-" "Um, speak for yourself. Y/n needs to know what I'm about to say"
Y/n was growing frustrated. "Ugh, you guys! One at a time PLEASE" "Y/n, really-"
"I love you y/n. Please be my girlfriend" Seungmin blurted. The other two were as shocked as each other. Y/n blushed madly and was about to say something when Chan interrupted.

"I love you too, y/n. Very much"
Seungmin was beyond shook as he didn't expect Chan to confess just after he just did. Y/n was more shooketh however.

"I'm flattered. Look..." "Y/n, take your time" "Oh but I've already made my decision" Both boys were shocked.
"I've always loved you too...

Seungmin" Seungmin broke into a huge grin and squeezed the girl tight. On the other hand, Chan felt like the world had collapse. Chan dropped the box of chocolates he'd spent his night making.

"I'm so sorry Chan. I-" "No its ok. I knew it. Well I wish nothing but the best for you" and with that Chan walked away dragging his foot around heartbroken once again. Now there's no way to go back being friends.

Your POV
It's been weeks since I've been dating Seungmin. He makes my heart flutter but he does tend to be busy. So I called up my friends but they were also busy. They only person left to hang out with was Chan. I haven't seen him in ages after I started going out with Seungmin.

I hesitated before I called Chan and a second later he picked up.

"Hello?" "Chan! Hi! We long time no see huh?" "Yeh..." "Um actually, I was thinking if could perhaps meet up" "I'd love to. Meet me at the usual café yeah?" "Yeah" and ended the call with a genuine smile. I was going to meet my best friend after a month!
The conversations were a little awkward and uncomfortable as we were trying to get used to each other's presence. But I don't mind. I really like him. Wait. No. As a friend.

After we finished our drinks we decided to stop by my house and just chill like we used to. After our conversation at the café, I realised that I've been missing out on a lot just because of a relationship. Seungmin never wanted me to talk to Chan. I love that we could finally go back to being the best of friends we were.

Chan trailed behind me as I tried open in the door to my house that I share with Seungmin. I regretted opening the door however. Chan's hand reached to my shoulder comfortably as tears roll down my cheeks.

Seungmin was kissing another person. To make it worse I knew that person. Hwang Hyunjin, the school's heart-throb. Seungmin jolted at the noise of my sobbing and widened his eyes.

"Y-y/n-" "How could you, Seungmin?" "It's not what it looks like. Hear me out" "So this is why you've been coming home late" "Y/n, you're being difficult" then Chan butted in, "Difficult? Hey watch your mou-" " It's ok Chan, let me handle this"
Chan felt like he does need to step out of this personal convo so he did what you said.

"Seungmin, what about our promises? You said I was the only one in your heart.  Aren't we getting married when we're older? Don't you love me-" "Y/n, I was bored. You don't satisfy me enough. You're like old property. No one finds you interesting. I was just entertaining myself jeez" That's when Chan grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me close.

"Don't talk about her like that you bastard or else. I knew you don't love her. Let's go y/n" and with that he lead me to his house to stay for the night.

I cried and cried till my body felt numb and fragile but Chan was always there for me. What did I do to deserve him?

"Y/n... I know you've just had a bad day but I want to remind you that I still love you. I never stopped. And I'd never leave you for someone else. We'd go on frequent dates. I'd drop anything for you. I'll always love you no matter what. I promise I'll make you feel like the happiest person alive" " Chan, I don't know what to say..." "Don't worry about it. Take your time. I'll always be by your side"
