I scowl at him and I almost shut the door.

"Wait. Please." He begs.

"Fine." I glare.

"I'd just like to apologize for saying those things. I didn't realize how much football meant to you. And I'm sorry." He says, looking into my eyes.

"It's fine. I forgive you, I guess." I say, smiling. I just finish my sentence when Jake comes in the back door.

"Hey. I bought 2 pizzas, some soda, and chips." He says. Then he looks up.

"Hey man." Garrett says.

"Uh. Hey." Jake replies.

"Are you guys having a party or something?" Garrett asks.

"Nope. I'm spending the night." Jake says. Garrett raises his eyebrows.

"We have slumber parties all the time. And we do each others hair and nails." Jake says in a high pitched voice. I laugh. And Garrett just looks uncomfortable.

"He stays over all the time." I say.

"Where's your parents?" Garrett asks.

"My mom is on a business trip and my dad-" I say, before Jake interrupts me.

"Her dad is with her mom." Jake says.

"Nice. So you guys got the whole night to do whatever you wannttttt." Garrett says in a sing-song voice.

"We're just friends!" Jake and I say at the same time.

"Okay, okay. I'll be going now. See you tomorrow." Garrett says. Then he walks away. I sigh.

"He is so clueless." I say. Jake nods and I can tell he is mad.

"Don't let it bother you. He's just an idiot." I say, trying to make him feel better.

Jake and I take the sodas, pizzas, and chips into the living room. We flip through the TV channels until we find "The Blind Side". It's probably my favorite football movie. Jake likes it too but he doesn't like it as much as I do.

"Ughhhh. We watch this like every single time I come over." He groans.

"We do not. You come over all the time. We only watch this sometimes. Plus, this was one of Mike's favorite movies." I say, getting defensive.

"Okay, okay. "The Blind Side" it is then. I actually don't mind this movie. I just have to watch it all the time." He winks at me.

I roll my eyes at him but get settled on the couch. I lean into Jake while I eat my pizza. When we both finish our food, I put my head on him and he wraps his arm around me. He kisses my head and we continue watching the movie.

"I love you, Tay." He says.

"I love you too, Jake. I'm glad that you stuck around after Mike died. I wouldn't have been able to cope without you." I look at him.

"I'm glad I stuck around too." He says. After "The Blind Side" is over, he picks out a movie. Sadly, he picks one of the Chucky movies. I absolutely hate horror movies and he knows it. I spend most of the movie screaming and hiding under the blanket that Jake got us.

"I am never letting me you pick. Ever again." I say, after the movie is finished. He just laughs. We pick up all of our garbage and I fold the blanket on the couch. It's about 11 pm so we head up to my room. He never sleeps in Mike's room. It's just to hard for him. I climb into my bed. And Jake follows.

"Floor. Now." I say. Jake gives me the puppy dog eyes.

"No. You're too loud and you move too much." I say, laughing at his face.

"I'll be quiet and I won't move around." Jake says.

"Nope. Floor." I say. Grumbling, Jake slowly sets up his bed on the floor. He glares at me every few seconds.

"Please Taylor. I'll be nice and I won't hog the bed. I promise." He begs, looking at me.

"Fine. But you're on the outside just in case I have to push you off." I sigh.

"Thank you." He grins, then he picks up his blanket and pillow and throws them on the bed. I sigh and crawl into the inside.

"Set an alarm." I remind him. He reaches over and sets my alarm clock for me.

"Thank you." I mumble, already half asleep. I don't hear his reply because by then, I'm too far gone.
