Chesterfield was a terrible team. They had no defense whatsoever. Needless to say, we beat them 47-7. (AN: For some of the games, I'm not gonna go into detail. I'll just tell you the score.)
"You're house, Taylor?" Jack yells.
"As usual." I yell back. I get in Jake's truck and when he gets in, I high-five him.
"Nice job out there, Captain." He says, smiling.
"You too. You did an awesome job blocking." I say, smiling back.
"Thanks." Jake says, starting the truck.
I call in and order 8 pizzas, the usual. I ask for them to be delivered at my house. Then Jake and I stop at the store and get a bunch of soda. By the time we get to my house, all the guys are in my basement playing video games. It's our usual hang out.
"Heyyy." I say, walking down the stairs. They all greet us with similar responses.
"Where's the pizza?" Zach yells.
"On its way. I ordered 8, so it might take a while." I reply. He nods and everyone returns to whatever they were doing. I run upstairs and get plastic cups, then run back down. I put everything on the table and then the doorbell rings.
"Probably the pizza." I say, running upstairs. I open the door and my dad is standing there.
"Not now. I told you this morning that I didn't want to see you near this house." I say, sighing.
"Are you having a party?" He asks angrily.
"No, oh my god. The team comes over every Friday after games." I say, sighing again.
"What team?" He asks, confused.
"The football team. The team I'm the captain of." I say.
"Oh." He says, looking at me.
"Tay, where's the pizza?" Someone yells.
"Gimme a minute." I yell back.
"Dad, I really have to go. And I'd appreciate it if you didn't come back." I say. He nods and walks away. I sigh and turn around. Jake is standing there.
"Are you okay?" He asks. I shake my head. He hugs me, then kisses my forehead.
"Whoa. Sorry for interrupting." Garrett says, coming up behind us.
"Just friends!" Me and Jake say at the same time.
"Is the pizza here?" He asks right as the doorbell rings. I nod. Then open the door.
"Pizza delivery for Taylor Green." Says the pizza guy.
"Thanks." I say, paying for the pizzas. "Party?" He asks.
"Kinda." I reply.
"I know this is kinda sudden, but would you like to go on a date with me sometime?" He asks.
"I don't even know your name. And I don't know you." I reply.
"She's taken." Jake growls from behind me.
"Sorry, dude. I didn't know." The pizza guy says, backing away.
"Thanks for the offer." I call after him. Then I shut the door.
"Aw, Jake. He was hot too." I say, frowning at him.
"Well I'm hotter." Jake says, sticking his tongue out at me.
"Don't bet on it." I laugh and turn around, pizzas in hand.
Garrett raises his eyebrows at us, but we just ignore him. We walk downstairs and all the guys start yelling, excited to finally eat. Alex practically rips one of them out of my hands, leaving me laughing while Jake glares at him. The rest of the night, we hang out, eat, and play video games.
By the time it's midnight, all the guys start leaving. Everyone thanks me. We make plans to hang out this weekend with all the guys. Coach wanted to schedule an extra practice but I talked him out of it. Chesterfield might have been an easy team but they were still a win.
