Star City 7:05 pm

Roy studied sceptically his blind date. The boy was short, skinny and pale, his raven hair was tied in a small pony tail and his eyes were an unnatural shade of blue. He was wearing a white shirt with a red oval, a red jacket, nlue jeans and red sneakers. Also, he either his eyes had dark circles or he was a fan of edgy make up.
"I'm Danny, by the way. Danny Fenton." he said as he took a seat at the table.
"So, " Roy started " you're not exactly what I expected."
"Be thankfull I'm not one of those kind of people that photoshop their profile."
"Yeah, then what kind are you ?"
"The kind that was basically dragged on a online date by his nosy older sister and that wants this to be over ASAP."

Roy chuckled. This Danny had a sense of humor. Good to know.

Danny smiled. This Roy seemed like an all right guy. This might not be as bad as he though.

Amity Park 9:00 pm

Well, Danny was right. This wasn't as bad as he though.
      It was worse. Way worse.

After exchanging some witty banter, they ordered some cheap food and talked about themselves.
Apparently, Roy used to be some milliardar's ward, but they had a fight that ended up in him leaving.
Danny revealed some information about himself too. How he was from Amity Park, how he liked video games and space, and other things that didn't involve ghosts. He ran out of normal topics rather too quickly.

Fortunatelly, that's when the waiter came with the first food Danny had since ... since ... he didn't have for ... a while. He really should remember to eat more often.

Unfortunatelly, that's when the freaking Box Ghost came in, causing panic between the employs and custumers.
Roy, on the other hand, seemed more tense, like he was going to defend himself, or attack the floating glowing blue man.

On the good side, Box Ghost wasn't there to try and ' unleash his cardboard doom '.
On the bad side, he was here to ask Danny to babysit Box Lunch, while he was going out with his wife.

Danny had been in a lot of awkward and emberassing situations. This was one of them.

After Box Ghost dissapeared, under the confused stares of the people left in the room, Danny took the blue baby, sheepishly excused himself and went straight home. So much for the normalicy.

Now, Danny was angrly playing DOOM in his room, while Box Lunch fell asleep on his bed, cluching on a cereal box like it was a teddy bear.
Since Tucker was busy studying for an important test and Sam was at some activist group meeting, Danny had to call his new 'gaming buddies'. Wally and Robin.

"So, ghosts can give afterbirth to other ghosts, huh ? Not a really turbing thing to think about. Bet that turned your date in a disaster, heavy on the 'dis' ." Robin said.
"Yeah, well, you're not wrong." Danny responded bitterly.
"By the way, how did you ... come to be. I mean, since you said you are diffrent, were you ... " Wally left the sentence hanging.

Ever since the Fentons taught him the basics of ghosts, he started to wonder what made Phantom so diffrent. He was acting like a normal teen and didn't focus on a theme. Some ghosts had a humanoid form, but none of those he saw so far were as human-looking as their den mother. Heck, he even admited himself, he was 'more human', whatever that ment.
The only logical answer was that it had to be linked to his 'creation'. The death of Danny Fenton.
Since Phantom lived with his parents and not in the Ghost Zone, trying to continue his life, afterlife, whatever, it could only mean that it must've happened recently.
This particular topic was secretly discussed in the Team whenever Phantom wasn't there or via mind link. Death was a sensitive subject. Especially for those that experienced it.
Their theories started out as plausible, but started to end up just plain ridiculous. After his meeting with the Fentons, Wally thought it wasn't far fetched for an accident to happen. Robin and Artemis, on the other hand, found a murder more plausible, bringing a sense of justice in the ghost. Superboy, M'gann and Kaldur didn't want to think about it. Just because their new den mother was a ghost, it didn't mean they had to know every traumatic experience he had.

However, Phantom's honest and blunt response completly threw them away.
"Lab accident. " Danny replied casually. "Electricity and humans din't mix." the boy ironically finised the Boss with a lighting strike. "Yes ! New level. Come on guys, it's like you're not even trying !"

Just when Danny was about to make a smart remark, a shiver ran down his spine and a blue mist exited his mouth, making the boy groan.
"If I'm not back in an hour, play on without me." Phantom said changing into his ghostly form and flew through the ceilling.

Okay, I finally finished it ! Sorry it took so long.
Don't worry, this isn't the last time Roy and Danny will meet. I already have a structure for the plot.

Should I start the one-shot book now ?
I could theoretically work on two books in the same time.

Now, goodbye and have anice day/night !
