"So tell me about you" he whispered drawing a cigarette from the packet in his pocket. He tapped the cigarette against his lips and then held it out, offering it to me.

I shook my head no. "I don't smoke" I shrugged. I hadn't smoked since my dad had died because of the bad habit.

"Good, we're getting somewhere, so now I know your name is Dillon and you don't smoke" He stated smiling at me. I chuckled and rolled my eyes.

I looked out at the sea in front of us and trailed my hands through the sand we were sitting on. The sun had disappeared behind a blanket of stars a while ago, and in its place a lonely moon rippled in the reflection of the sea. I sighed and lay on my back, moving my eyes to Lincoln who was already watching me.

"OK, so I'm nineteen, I don't smoke, I have a younger brother who lives with my mum but I don't live at home anymore and I'm in university studying art" I listed on my fingers.

He was silent for a moment "OK, well that's all interesting and stuff, but that's stuff everyone knows. I want to know what your favorite music, books and places are."

Even though we'd only just met, it didn't feel strange that he –a stranger- wanted to know such personal details about me. I felt like he should know, and I in turn wanted to know everything about him.

"Hmm" I joked tapping my chin. "That's fine, but you have to answer my questions to" I said seriously.

He just nodded before continuing with his questions. I told him that I loved all music, and that the best way to listen to it was on a record player alone at night in your bedroom when you're half asleep. I loved all classic books and could read all day and I didn't have one favorite place, because I had too many.

I soon realised how much time had passed, and how much I'd been talking.

I abruptly stopped talking, embarrassed by my rambling. Throughout our conversation Lincoln had also joined me on his back, to lay on the sand and had closed his eyes to listen to me. When he noticed I'd stopped talking he opened his eyes and looked at me with questioningly.

"Why did you stop?" he asked hoisting himself up to lean on his elbow.

"I was talking to much, you never got to say anything" I muttered still embarrassed.

"I like listening to you, your interesting."

I finally turned to face him when I thought my face probably didn't look as red as it had a minute ago.

"Yes well, you now know more about me than most people, and all I know is your name, that you smoke and that you ride a motorbike" I stated, annoyed for revealing so much about myself. I didn't understand why I trusted him so much.

"Well we have plenty of time for you to get to know me some other time" he said standing up before holding out his hands to pull me to my feet.

I didn't push the matter any further as his previous words suggested that we would be seeing each other again, which was something I definitely wanted to do.

"I guess. So where are we going now" I asked him.

"Well I didn't just bring you to the beach to stay dry" he laughed walking towards the water and lifting his shirt above his head. I couldn't bring my eyes to look away from his toned inked chest, and I yet again turned pink when he caught me admiring his body.

I instantly knew we would be friends when he didn't tease me for checking him out.

"So you want to get me wet?" I laughed. I suddenly realized the other meaning to what I'd just said.

"You said it, not me" he laughed holding up his hands.
