Rays of light flickered through the thin curtains drawn closed across the window, I didn't need an alarm, the sun woke me every morning without fail so that I could spend a few drowsy moments to myself for a minute or two before the day really started.
Slowly opening my eyes I realized that I was no longer led on the floor, but instead I was wrapped in a warm cocoon of blankets, arms and legs. My face was pressed against his chest and his arms were wrapped around me loosely. His chest slowly rose up and down, and his eyes were closed peacefully. This was my favorite part of the day, when I could pretend for a few minutes that we were a normal couple and that waking up peacefully in his arms was something I had the privilege of doing every morning.
"Shit!" I muttered to my self when I saw the time on the clock on the dresser next to me. I was running late for class.
I quickly untangled myself from Lincolns arms trying not to wake him, and rushed to the bathroom. I took a shower at lightening speed, relaxing my muscles under the hot water and soothing shower gel. Suddenly the shower curtain was pulled back and Lincoln stood there with a grin on his face.
"May I join you?" he asked teasingly in his husky morning voice. His hair was messy and he still looked sleepy and a little hungover. I really wanted to accept his offer.
I reached for my towel and wrapped my petite but curvy body in it. "You have no idea how much I would have loved that, but I'm running late" I said stepping out of the shower after squeezing water out of my long wavy hair.
I walked past him and back into the bedroom where I dropped my towel and slipped into my favorite black lacy underwear ."Can you help me with this" I asked referring to my bra.
His fingertips brushed my bare back as he gently clasped the straps together sending shivers down my spine.
"Thank you" I whispered and turned round to face him, surprising him with a quick peck on the lips.
"My pleasure" he smiled.
I put on some cute denim shorts and tucked a red blouse into them not having enough time to put much consideration into my outfit. I quickly applied some eyeliner and mascara and then my favorite tinted lip balm deciding to leave my hair down and let it dry in its natural waves.
I checked my appearance in the mirror one last time and caught Lincoln watching me from the bed.
"what?" I asked him, wondering why he was staring at me.
"I love you" he said seriously. "And I'm sorry about last night"
I was surprised to say the least, he never apologized for nights like last night and I hand't bothered bringing it up this morning in fear of starting another argument. I was just pleased that he seemed to be in a good mood.
"Its okay" I reassured him. "I love you"
I sat on the bed next to him and put my hand against his cheek, "its okay linc, I just feel like I'm not good enough for you anymore" I explained quietly.
"Dillon, you need to know your the only person I need. I'm sorry I haven't loved you the way you deserve to be loved" he confessed.
Nodding I told him" I don't care about anybody else, I just want to be good enough for you" and leaned in to kiss him.
Our lips softly met and all of my worries disappeared, time stood still as our lips moved together as one, our souls one. His lips tasted of mint and I could feel him smiling into our kiss which made me smile too, the kiss comforted me and I relaxed into him finally pulling away and resting my forehead against his. I looked into his gorgeous brown eyes for a second before standing up.
"You cant leave now!" he exclaimed disbelievingly, he wrapped his arms around my waist trying to persuade me to stay home.
"I'm sorry linc, but I cant afford to miss any more classes"
He sighed dramatically "Fine! But don't think your getting out of carrying this on when you get back home!" he retorted.
"I look forward to it" I giggled and then finally left the apartment closing the door gently behind me.

A fifteen minute drive got me to my university and I grabbed my bag before rushing from my car and through the buildings doors. I sighed in relief when I saw that my best friend Danny was still waiting for me next to the art studios doors.
"Thanks for waiting for me " I stammered and hugged him a quick hello. We quickly entered the room and found our seats before our art tutor walked in.
The art studio was a big spacious room, the walls were covered in paintings and one of the four walls was made from glass so we could draw from the pretty scenery outside if we wished. There were a few tables scattered around the room but most of us stood at our easels when we painted or sculpted. It was a messy place with paintbrushes, paint, pots and paper scattered everywhere, but it was what made the room so colourful and lively.
"OK people" Evan shouted out to us " I want you to carry on with your paintings today, you only have another week to finish, but don't rush!"
We immediately went to carry on with our art pieces and I quickly settled into the familiar and comforting routine of brushing paint onto a canvas to create a story with colours.
Class soon finished and I left with a good mood and paint covered fingers. I grabbed a chocolate chip muffin from the small cafe and got back into my car ready to drive home.
"Hey Dillon, wait up!" I heard Danny's voice shout at me and saw him running over to me. I rolled down the window and smiled up at him.
"Whats up?" I asked curiously.
He run his hands through his fluffy blonde hair and lent against my car." Do you want to hang out later? We haven't seen each other outside of school in a while" he asked.
I wanted to hang out with him, but fluorescent warning signs flashed in my mind. " I would love to Danny, but its just that linc..."
"Lincoln, of course! He's said you cant see me hasn't he?" He interjected and frowned. " I don't see why he has a problem with me! I've only met the guy like two times!"He threw his arms into the air in frustration.
"I'm sorry Danny, I don't know why either. He said he doesn't trust you" I scoffed.
Even I knew how ridiculous Lincolns issue with Danny was. Lincoln hadn't liked Danny as soon as they'd met each other, and I had the feeling it was because me and Danny had briefly dated before I'd even met Lincoln.
No matter how many times I tried to reassure Lincoln that there was nothing between me and Danny apart from friendship, he still wasn't happy. He didn't understand how we could still be best friends after having dated, I remember he'd described it as 'unnatural'.
"I know its ridiculous, and usually I wouldn't listen to his warning and I'd hang with you anyway, but we had a fight last night and I don't want to ruin the surprisingly good mood he had this morning by making him mad." I explained, turning the keys in the ignition so that the car sputtered to life.
"No problem Dillon, I get it" he sighed."Well I'll see you later then OK?"
I nodded and waved before rolling the window up and pulling out of the car park to go home.
