After preventing the Indoraptor from being transported anywhere else, Owen, Zach and I found a stairwell that led us back to Maisie and Claire.

"Everyone okay?!" Claire said breathlessly while checking us all over.

Zach nods, "All good, you guys?"

"We're fine, now can we please get out of here?" She replies in a panicked tone.

Owen points at a door a couple of meters away from us and we all run toward it.

I reach for the handle but when I go to open it a voice sounds from behind us, "DON'T!"

We all turn around slowly and see Mills with two armed guards on either side of him. Owen moves in front of us and outstretches his arms protectively. I grab a hold of his arm with my right hand and Zach holds my left hand in his.

"Maisie, come with me." Mills orders.

I straighten my stance, "You got your money, walk away."

Mills tilts his head to the side, "What are you gonna do sweetheart?"

I narrow my eyes.

"We're gonna stop this! All of it." Claire shouts back.

Mills is getting more agitated by the second, "How?! What, you're gonna go back in time before Hammond decided to play god?! You can't put it back in the box!"

"We have to try!" Zach pipes up.

"It's too late. Maisie, come." Mills orders again while pointing to the ground in front of him.

Claire pulls Maisie close to her. Maisie wraps her hand around my brother's arm.

Mills scoffs, "Oh so you're gonna take care of her now? You have no idea what she is."

I share a glance with Zach and he looks just as confused as I am right now.

Mills takes a deep breath, "What do you think drove Hammond and Lockwood apart? Lockwood never had a grandchild. He just wanted his daughter back. He had the technology; He created another. He made her again."

Holy shit.

I chance a look at Maisie, she's turned pale and her jaw has dropped a little.

Suddenly the Indoraptor flies across the corridor in front of us, taking out both of Mills' armored guards.

I scream and Zach's grip on my hand tightens.

"Go! Go!" Owen yells while pointing at the door to our left.

I'm stuck to the spot with terror so my brother has to literally pick me up and carry me through the door. He places me back on my feet quickly and gets to work on barricading the door.

Zach puts one hand on my shoulder and the other on my cheek, "It's okay, it's okay."

I'm still hyperventilating and I notice that Maisie is too. I need to be strong for her; she must be way more scared than I am so if I keep freaking out like this it'll only make it worse for her. I mean that kid basically just learned that her entire life was a lie.

I shake out my hands and take a deep breath in an effort to calm down. I am determined to not be scared anymore, I mean I'm a Grady for crying out loud!
