"God kill me" Jane whispers under her breath as she gets into the limo. She looks up at the monstrous building she had just walked out of. Samuel's Attorneys of Law, the biggest law firm in New York City and Ontario. Earlier Jane had been sitting at the horseshoe desk in the lobby on the 20th floor, taking messages and coffee orders. Her boss Micheal Johnson hadn't showed yet for work. Being late wasn't his thing, he was always on time. Sometimes if he was early he would just stand outside the large glass doors until exactly 9:30. In truth, those few minutes Jane usually spent admiring him from the high counter of her desk. His dark brown almost black curls falling messily over his god like face. Her and Micheal go way back to high school. They are best friends. Micheal was even so generous to give her this job, granted she is basically the only one that works and doesn't even get one fourth of Micheal's hammer of a salary of 150 thousand dollars a year.
When Jane picked up the phone this morning Micheal was out of breath. He told her to come down to the park quickly for a 'Picnic', and to wear white. The one thing he said really made her swoon, was 'I Love You Jane' she couldn't wrap her mind around it. In their thirteen years of friendship he'd never said ' I love you' to her. Jane had hunch, or like a expert opinion of romance movies and plot lines that he was going to marry her. He found out that it was her that sent him the watch and the baseball tickets, but he never knew how he felt before now. Jane fixed her tight pencil dress and pushed her glasses back on her face. All the body language signs she made over the past year had finally made its way to the front of his mind. She couldn't believe it she was about to get married to Micheal Johnson, CEO of Samuel's Attorneys of Law. Jane was already planning what to name their daughter and son. When they pulled up to the park she didn't look out of the window, but just sat there. Slowly she placed the ring Micheal had given her last year for Christmas on her ring finger. Studying it, admiring the look the diamond had on her hand. The limo driver opened the door, and Jane's heart leaped. She was right!
A large banner huge over the buffet table, Micheal and Jane. Tall pillars on both sides of the banner covering it slightly. Stumbling and very jittery because she didn't know if she was ready to get married. "Jane!" she heard Micheal call from the arch, it was covered in pink flowers.

Her breath caught in her lungs and she started choking on air. Micheal slaps her back. "Jeez you're more excited than I am" he laughs
"Why wouldn't I be?!" She jumped up and down.
"Good because I thought this would be awkward, for the last couple of months it seemed like you were throwing hints." He said putting on a white blazer
"Oh yeah?" Jane said in a flirty voice, well tried to say in a flirty, sexy way, but it came out sounding like the Kool Aid man.
"So I didn't want to ruin our friendship"
"Yeah me either" Jane says smiling. She leans in just a little for a kiss.
"This is Jana!" he says pulling a tall brunette out of a random crowd. Jana had long brown hair and green eyes. She was wearing a sundress, so she blended in with other random park goers. They shook hands, and now she couldn't catch her breath. "We might elope today." Jane made up an excuse to leave the wedding for a little bit. In the public bathroom there in the park. In the mirror she smeared her mascara whilst wiping away tears. Who was she kidding why would Micheal freaking Johnson want her. He now had Jana, who was probably a model that ate two cubes of cheese a day. A knock echoed through the bathroom. Micheal was leaning against the doorway.
Jane quickly cleaned herself up. "Hey." he said pushing himself off the door. "Whats wrong?" he brushed hair back behind her ear. She stared into his deep brown eyes. They were so close she could smell the faint cologne, and his shampoo.
"I'm just so happy for you." Jane cried, he started crying with her. "My best friend is getting married" She said truly happy. He kissed her cheek and left the bathroom. Even though she didn't end up with the guy at the end, she got to keep her best friend as a best friend, and just like that those butterflies flew away. What a picnic.
